At first glance, this restaurant may not seem impressive, but we were really hungry, so we decided to give it a try and ordered the grilled chicken steak. The meal came with a salad and some bread. We also ordered two additional salads, but unfortunately, everything fell short. The meat was tough and unappetizing, and it was alarming to find that all the cucumbers in the salads were clearly expired and old. They should absolutely not be serving that to customers. Family members said it was a good place. I won't be back.Just because you grill meat and slap on sauce does not make it BBQ. True BBQ is slow cooked and falling off the bone, this stuff was a work out for the jaw. And too expensive for what you get. Over $60 got me 3 pork ribs, 3 short ribs, and chicken bones with hardly any meat, but a ton of rice and french fries. Forget the beans and rice. AMAZING! The food from MIddlesex BBQ is the real comida caseira ... meaning REAL home made food like it came from mom 's kitchen. We have ordered three times (two for big events! and have not been dissapointed with food quality. Shrimp rice, garlic chicken, ribs, empanadas, ALL delicious!!!! Only complaint is that for both pick up and delivery they take a LONG time... and they will say 10 more minutes which can turn into 40 minutes... but food quality is on point!

I visited the restaurant today for lunch and waited 20 minutes for my grilled chicken, fries, and potato salad. The fries were plentiful but lacked seasoning. The potato salad was quite flavorful, though it wasn't made in-house. Unfortunately, the grilled chicken was a bit greasy.
Ordered delivery to try this place out. What a mistake! I ordered a chicken and short ribs combo fo $25 and only received 2 tiny pieces of meat! There are too many of these bbq places around to settle for this. Im going to stick with my go to (Dunellen BBQ) smh
I have ordered couple of times they prefer cash else you need to pay 4% service charge on credit cards. Service is fast and staff helpful. My favorites has been the pork BBQ skewers
The food lacked flavor. This was my second visit, and I won't be returning—there are better options in Dunellen.
