After making our reservations for Valentines Day on open table with a confirmation, the host could not find our reservation and after showing our confirmation, he said, “ oh we cancelled open table for valentines day, WITHOUT checking for reservations. We were seated in the bar “emergency” table and it was loud with a very over busy wait staff. Very disappointed. We felt rushed and ignored. Too many other places to try, will not repeat here. :
As usual, Porters was great however, all of the food we ordered tasted like rosemary. It was way overpowering, and way too prevalent. When celebrating our wedding anniversary and spending over dollars for the two of us to eat, we expected something different other than all of the dishes to taste strongly of rosemary. The service was as usual very good.
DO NOT go in winter! It is freezing inside and for some reason, the heating system does not work. Food pretty good, but my sweetheart and I had to keep our coats on the entire meal. Even the coffee and tea were lukewarm. My feet were almost numb by the time we left. (Of course, we are senior citizens, so take this review for what it's worth
I had a great experience at Porters as always, but unfortunately, all of the dishes we ordered had an overpowering taste of rosemary. We were celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary and spent over $100 for our meal, so we were disappointed that all the flavors were dominated by rosemary. Porters is one of the best restaurants in the Medford area. It exudes style and class combined with traditional, quality service. With one small exception, every food item over several visits has been prepared to perfection, beautifully presented and fit for an epicurean.
Nice quiet place with that fine dining feel. Staff was very knowledgeable about menu and made sure everything was up to par. Great place to go on a date or just a nice evening meal. Prices aren’t that bad for the quality of food you are getting. Highly recommended.
Our first time to this restaurant in Medford. It was originally a train depot and the original woodwork was beautiful. We sat in a booth and was amazed at the number of menu choices. It took us a long time to decide what to order. We know we will go back.
