We visited Easter Sunday for dinner. The spinach and ricotta tortellini was nice, though I opted for a nepolienta sauce over the creamy mushroom. The filling was a bit scarce, but serving size was good. The gnocchi with prawns and a creamy Gorgonzola sauce didn't skimp on the prawns for a nice change. However, the gnocchi was swimming in the sauce which was too much for my mum, and she couldn't finish. My sister's chicken parmigiana was delicious- well crumbed and generously topped with cheese, it was the favourite of the night. Looks like your pretty stock standard informal Italian restaurant, except that they have really fresh seafood which was delicious. It was mid-week and absolutely dead, so there was no atmosphere. The waiter didn't seem particularly keen on giving us a bit of entertainment either haha as I was trying to talk to her and getting nothing back. Oh well. I had the spaghetti portorosa, was delicious.
There’s a lot to like about Portorosa. Eat your Italian meal inside or out, even has a couple of outdoor tables under cover and wind sheltered. Or relax with a good coffee! This restaurant served the best Italian food in Freemantle. We decided we’d dine there a second night. We loved the wood fired pizzas, oyster Kirkpatrick, seafood pasta.
