Nice local pub of Port Melbourne. Exactly what you’d expect a pub to be. We sat outside which is dog friendly and there was a nice surprise with table service! We went on a steak special night which was $20. I asked for mine rare with garlic butter and red wine jus. It was a porterhouse came out slightly medium rare but was still very tasty. My friends was closer to medium then medium rare. There wasn’t much choice for dessert so I did get a second steak as I was super hungry that day and I got a scotch fillet for this order as they ran out of the porterhouse cut. This one was cooked better and had bigger fries and salad! Nice for a casual catch up with friends and dinner specials!
The environment of this pub is fantastic, and the interior design is cozy and welcoming as soon as you walk in, perfect environment for a drink and some food. The employees are all lovely, easy going, but there is excellent service. The food is always quick to come out, and the quality of the food is amazing, with excellent presentation. They regularly update their specials board which in itself is fantastic as it provides more variation and the food never fails to amaze. We try to order something new every time we go and so far everything we have tried has been fantastic. Definitely recommend going if you live in the area, or even just visiting.
great $20 steak night Expertly grilled over coals giving a delicious charred taste perfectly cooked to specification in my case medium, if I had known it was cooked this well I probably would've gone medium rare. delicious salad wonderfully dressed great balance of sweet and vinegar and perfect fries, and when I say perfect they were perfect, because I am very fussy about fries. These are skinny style and presented hot enough to hold their temp. Good beer selection of more eclectic beers. Good music and vibe friendly staff. these special nights at the Prince Alfred well worth attending do yourself a favour. sorry no photos was too busy eating
I love Parmas! And this place does a amazing one. Given how simple the ingredient usually are for it. It easy for parmas from different places to blend together and not really stand out. So everything comes down the the quality of ingredients and the cooking process. I particularly enjoyed this one cuz they tomato paste on the parma had this nice tanginess that really made everything just come together. Crispy crusting in the chicken and juicy on the inside cooked to perfection . This definitely needs to be in the top 10 list for Melbourne. Also tried the chicken sliders but that’s was a meh for me. Attended the Prince Alfred for lunch today and can’t thank them enough for a wonderful experience! The staff were amazing from the onset, just so warm, welcoming and kind. We took our 3 month old out for a meal (for only the second time since we had him) and they eased our nerves immediately. The food was great too! Highly recommend the cheesy garlic bread! We’ll absolutely be back again.
Wow. Dinner tonight was great. Specials were intriguing and tempted us, and we weren’t disappointed. Fish special with risotto and scallops was amazing and my friends had the Wagyu beef shin which they loved. Always a special pub that I love chilling out in with a couple of craft beers, but dinner tonight took it to another level. Great place.
Fantastic service from our waiter James. He gave us the feeling of considerate attention to detail. Explaining the best of the food menu, wine and beers. We were seated at a table by the window, with a glorious view of a great Saturday night in port Melbourne. A fantastic night ending in a few games of pool and a bunch of laughs
Great pub for a steak on a weeknight. Really friendly and professional staff, with a menu with depth and quality to keep you coming back. Got the steak special with the red wine jus, and it was fantastic. Great beer selection on the taps too. Definately a great pub in the area, if not the best Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Love this bar!! The people were so mice and sweet, recommended the good Rosé for me. Only here for drink but they are pretty busy in night. It’s kid friendly for sure, and there is a pool you may play with.
