I can't believe I never checked this place. I'm here for the first time in a few years. My wife used to be on the 12th and spring garden, so we went here more often, but we somehow forgot. Life has moved us out of this area. The food here is so brilliant and I think it will probably always be. I got the fried chicken BLT with fries. It was so delicious. I also don't know if you usually think about it, but they really clean the tables between the guests. I think most places use only a dry rage and wipe it on the ground. Not here. Excellent food with great service. We had a big party and they just accommodated us. I had the Triple B wing with sauce on the side and the Tempura string beans. Amazing crispy and delicious. Fries were also solid. Fiancée had the buffalo wings with sauce on the side. Our friends had pork bites and burgers. You have EVERYDAY HAPPY HOUR with a delicious tequila drink/punch. It is a corner bar that opens and gives you a great pub tavern feeling and ambience. I would return to absolute and tell others. Even the bar was sweet! My fiancée I stopped after a show in the Met. The first big plus was that it was one of the few places that still served at 11 a.m. less than a mile from the Met. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a macaroni and cheese. The Mac and the cheese were delicious and we liked the shoe-running fries that came with the chicken sandwich. The sandwich I didn't care for the bread, tasted me, and the sandwich was mostly dark meat that made it spicy and greasy. My fiancée liked it, but maybe I'm just picky! Service was fast and our waiter was friendly and helpful. The mood in the bar was a small key and quite quiet for a Saturday night.
Love this place. Am from suburbs and always eat here before shows at Union Transfer or Underground Arts. Corner bar with neighborhood feel. Way more hip/cool than me but doesn't make me feel like an old dude. Bartenders always friendly and quick with your drink, even when packed. But it's the food, seriously, that shines. Once had an Unami burger here which was the best I ever had. This last time just got a regular with lots of fries. Wifey also had something delicious. They seemed to have survived VOCID well and have some outdoor seating, though it was too cold on our visit. I hope they don't change anything, a true gem.

Last night in particular we were disappointed by the bartenders. They were extremely rude and passive aggressive. We ordered a drink that they weren’t familiar with and then continued to mock us amongst each other. Other than that, this spot has an awesome vibe. We love coming for a nightcap after a show at Union Transfer.
Ordered the Pretzel Bites . They were sopping wet with some kind of cooking oil or butter. Completely inedible. Granted, I ordered about half an hour before they closed for the night, but if theyre taking orders at a given time, they should still care about the quality of the food :
Stumbled about this bar/restaurant. I'd say it's a must to visit Philadelphia. The best meal I had in the 3 days I was in town. Had the brussel sprouts and the thai chili shrimp with sticky coconut rice. Delicious!
my friends and I landed here after 10 and were happy to find a great menu and many vegan options and vegan alternatives. the staff was friendly and the food was delicious!
