Stopped off at the market for a quick bite and accidentally found this gem. Open plan diner facing into a big seating area so there are lots of food choices. Noticed someone eating what looked like cheese mac which is always a great comfort food for me ! What was on offer at Proper and son was cauliflower cheese mac - bonus ! That was super tasty. Service was fast and cheerful - actually asked the server to go easy otherwise the serving would have been in food coma territory. This place is a winner.
What a great place for breakfast. Situated in the food hall of South Melbourne Market, we ordered scrambled eggs on sourdough toastie with a side order of bacon. The bacon was so thick and cooked to perfection, almost like a chop. It was accompanied by a small salad with the most delicious dressing. Amazing coffee made this beautifully decorated cafe a pleasure to have breakfast at. We can't wait to return . It's a total treat
Had a great sandwich here - corned wagyu brisket on a brioche bun, with a side of sweet potatoes and jalapeños. Have had excellent breakfasts in the past. The service is friendly and helpful, and they're good with young children.

Tucked away inside the South Melbourne Market is this great Cafe for Breakfast. Friendly staff, great coffee and excellent food choices. The thick cut bacon is sensational!
We had breakfast on Saturday morning, a beautiful meal to start the day. Would thoroughly recommend the visit when in Melborne.
