It took a huge time and two people at our table to find the manager and complain that our table was being ignored. During the meal the coffee was refilled but not the water and finding a waiter was not easy. I ordered the Bubble... 'n Squeak and specifically asked that no beans be put on the plate as I dislike them enormously. I asked if there was anything else but if not that was fine. They offered mushrooms and I was delighted. Well, the order came and guess what was on the plate and it was surrounding all the food. I rarely send food back but this time I did. The portion was very large and the food was excellent. The potato mish mash was like a very fat pregnant latke and super tasty. So...
we went there to the afternoon tea experience and I was so excited about the vibe in the second floor. the sandwiches and scorpses were delicious. (who knew something as simple as a gurke and saw a cheese sandwich would taste this amazing but my favorite was the mini-pill queue! for the sweets, the chocolate cream puffs and the macarons were amazing! they find a great selection of tea and alcoholic drinks. we tried the earl grey cream as well as the camomilla yuzu. for the drinks I had a burgundy julep, taste wise it reminded me of orange and vanilla creme campino bonbons, it was so good! I would recommend to try the place at least once if they visit near Atwater/Place St-Henri!
If you want that British pub style atmosphere including local and domestic ale with all the trimmings in the city then this is it. Located steps away from the Atwater Market with a quaint entrance to this establishment with much to offer. The service is absolutely amazing. Health checks on entry but after settling in you have so much food varieties to choose from that it could take u a moment or two. Fish and chips was delightful and hit the spot along with the Cheeky Betsy would lay you out for the rest of the day. Drop in... Give them a try.
Thursday nights surprisingly busy. Should have made a reservation. Waited 30 minutes, once seated was ignored for 20 minutes. No waiter, no menu....just waited. After we express our concern to bartender upstairs(unexperienced at pouring a basic on the rocks) we were given a Menu. Food...was mediocre, from reviews thought food would be a bit higher level pub food. Mac and Cheese needed salt, Angus burger like a hockey puck. Very POOR wait staff. Average food. Not worth $131 for 3 people. 4 drinks 3 entrees.
I went for high tea with a friend it was amazing! Cozy location, yummy food, excellent service, and great tea selection. The price is also very reasonable, and they’re not pushy about getting the bottomless mimosa option (other places aren’t subtle about it
beautiful pub, excellent decoration. fish and chips are very tasty, portobello burger is also. fries (chips) are fantastic. beer and cocktails were also great. we are from ottawa and 5/5 come back!
Nice atmosphere and service. Just check the brunch timings before and preferably reserve ahead. Fresh Lemonade is amazing. Southasian dishes like vege tikka (can add shrimps) are authentic.
Very varied menu of food items from starters entrees and desserts as well as Beers and Whiskys and more. Friendly staff and delicious food would definitely go back to try another dish
Had a wonderful time at Burgundy Lion. Food is what you'd find in a British pub. And the staff was 5 stars as well. I'm going back soon!
