Deux amis et moi-même avons été au Burgundy Lion pour souper à la mi-juillet. Nous avons été reçus et servis avec courtoisie et bonne humeur. L’endroit était assez occupé pour un mercredi soir et l’ambiance était celui d’un pub bien animé. En plus de son espace intérieur, le restaurant propose une terrasse sur la rue Notre-Dame et une autre dans une enclave intérieure. C’est là que nous avons choisi de souper et malgré que ce soit plutôt bruyant, nous avons quand même pu y avoir nos conversations sans trop de problème.Le choix d’apéros, de bières et de vin au verre était varié au point de ne décevoir personne. Le menu aussi est assez varié avec un choix de plats pouvant satisfaire les goûts...
It might be because I am English, or it might be beacuse I love trying different Scotch's but this place is a treat. The food is really good English pub fare, (great Yorkshire puddings etc) and the deserts look terrific (being diabetic, my wife wouldn't let me sample them directly, but they look great) and of course that Whisky Menu is just remarkable. It;s worth going just for that. Good service too, which is always really important to me.
Je comprends que nous sommes dans coin un peu plus anglais de Montréal, mais se fut très difficile d'entendre parler en français la serveuse. Très dommage! De plus, quand les entrées ont été servis, j'ai dû me lever pour aller chercher moi-même des ustensiles et nous avions demandé des renseignements sur le menu à la serveuse et elle ne savais pas et est revenue avec les détails après que nous aillions eu les entrées.
We had a spot for a group of 7 in the interior garden, which was amazing. The pub was crowded the ambiance was great. They have this little interior open space it was nice since the front terasse was full. We didn't eat as we all went for drinks. We got 2 wine bottles and couple on appetizers...food is pretty amazing. We will for sure go back for a supper there! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
There were 3 of us, all of whom ordered a different dish. None of us loved our choices. Our dinners were average at best. We ordered the burger, bangers and mash, and shepherd's pie. The service was excellent, and the wait staff friendly. However, with all of the places to choose from in the area, I wouldn't return.
We are regular customers at this restaurant. However, when we brought another restaurant owner with us, we were disappointed by the horrible service. Our waiter was speaking about us in French, which our guest understood. It was embarrassing for us since we are locals.
This restaurant is a fantastic choice for dinner and drinks. Despite my dietary restrictions, I was able to find something on the menu to enjoy thanks to the helpful waitress. It would be wonderful to see dairy free dessert options added to the menu.
Had the pleasure to have a drink there, the first bar opened on a Sunday night on Notre-Dame in la Petite Bourgogne near Saint-Henri - who says Ottawa is quiet! Packed of course of tourists from everywhere where the main language was English. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The Angus burger arrived and the meat was grey. The non existent crust was grey and the interior was...grey. I ate half before giving up. One of the lamest burgers of my life and I'm a senior citizen.
