visited the burgundy lion in the early afternoon for some drinks and a snack.the pub is like a british pub. the special beer (burgundy ale) was a really good one! we also had a "burgundy lion roastbeef sandwich". The sandwich was big enough to share for 2 and really delicious.there was one thing i really disliked: the barkeeper greeted us on french what is normal for quebec. so we told him we are tourists and unfortunately don't speak any french. he then served us on english, but every new round he kept talking french to us.i know the french-canadians want to speak french, but they should respect that there are tourists that can't speak their language. this was very rude and we did not feel...
I've been to Burgundy Lion on a few different occasions and have never been disappointed. They've a great beer selection and a fine cocktail list as well. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and their food menu is incredible. A british pub, their menu is a slice of the british isles. I'd recommend the Full Monty breakfast if you have a hankering for a filling breakfast. Or if you're just looking for a quick snack, try their homemade salt and vinegar chips (crisps). Friendly staff with both an indoor and outdoor terasse for the summer months, Burgundy Lion is worth a visit if you're in Montréal. Only 5 mins from Lionel Groulx metro or the famous atwater market so very accessible too.
It might be because I am English, or it might be beacuse I love trying different Scotch's but this place is a treat. The food is really good English pub fare, (great Yorkshire puddings etc) and the deserts look terrific (being diabetic, my wife wouldn't let me sample them directly, but they look great) and of course that Whisky Menu is just remarkable. It;s worth going just for that. Good service too, which is always really important to me.
We had a spot for a group of 7 in the interior garden, which was amazing. The pub was crowded the ambiance was great. They have this little interior open space it was nice since the front terasse was full. We didn't eat as we all went for drinks. There were 3 of us, all of whom ordered a different dish. None of us loved our choices. Our dinners were average at best. We ordered the burger, bangers and mash, and shepherd's pie. The service was excellent, and the wait staff friendly. However, with all of the places to choose from in the area, I wouldn't return.
We are regular customers at this restaurant. However, when we brought another restaurant owner with us, we were disappointed by the horrible service. Our waiter was speaking about us in French, which our guest understood. It was embarrassing for us since we are locals.
This restaurant is a fantastic choice for dinner and drinks. Despite my dietary restrictions, I was able to find something on the menu to enjoy thanks to the helpful waitress. It would be wonderful to see dairy free dessert options added to the menu.

The Angus burger arrived and the meat was grey. The non existent crust was grey and the interior was...grey. I ate half before giving up. One of the lamest burgers of my life and I'm a senior citizen.
