An elderly couple, visibly disabled and using walking aids, asked the woman behind the counter where the restrooms were, as ongoing renovations had made the usual facilities unavailable. Instead of providing assistance, she responded with a dismissive, "Do I look like I work on the platform?" When the gentleman politely asked her to repeat herself, she shouted her response in a condescending manner.

I had a disappointing experience at the Pumpkin Cafe this morning due to a rude and obnoxious employee. We arrived at 8:05 AM, expecting them to be open since their website advertised a 7:30 AM opening time. We were looking forward to a little treat for my sons, who were visiting from York and Manchester. As we approached the open door, we were met with a shout, "I'm not open yet!" A lady next to me inquired about their opening time and was bluntly told, "When I'm ready to open, love!" Her attitude was incredibly off-putting and not at all representative of a welcoming atmosphere. My 10-year-old son was quite upset by her demeanor and even remarked that he would prefer to skip breakfast rath...
This is by far the worst food experience I’ve ever had, family of 4 coffees, juices and sausage or bacon sandwiches before the train. Microwaved bacon or sausage sandwich’s, yes you heard me correct, microwaved. The kids sausage sarnies were terrible bread tough as anything as it’d been in the mic and 1&1/2 sausage per sandwich, what’s they done with the half?? My bacon I opened it in front of the server to add sauce and instantly decided I couldn’t possibly eat it it looked like plastic. I said I’m sorry that’s simply inedible and pushed it towards her, she took it chucked it in the bin and served someone else, no refund or anything offered. Unbelievable….
Elderly blonde woman there behind the counter was very unprofessional and kept complaining to her colleague about how she just cleans and tidies the premises non-stop, however it was absolutely filthy inside with food crumbs all over the floor, tables and seats, there was spilt milk all over the floor just left there whilst the staff were chatting and not doing anything. Also overheard the older blonde woman being rude to another customer. Charged nearly £8 for two regular coffees that were just mostly frothy milk. I certainly wouldn't eat in this place as I'd probably get food poisoning. Never again.

I had a very disappointing experience this morning (28/01/24) due to the poor service from a female staff member. She was snarky and unfriendly, which made us uncomfortable. I would appreciate it if a manager could reach out to me regarding a full refund, as we chose to leave before receiving our order rather than dealing with such unpleasant behavior first thing in the morning. It's clear why the restaurant was empty and has received negative reviews; I wish I had looked into it beforehand. - Ricky.
The service this morning was excellent, thanks to a friendly staff member who managed everything solo despite the busy atmosphere. She remained cheerful and attentive, which made a big difference. On a chilly morning, I really appreciated the exceptionally warm ambiance, and the hot chocolate was fantastic!
Visited whilst waiting for a train at Darlington Station. The food and drink was reasonable, staff were pleasant and attentive. The environment is woeful. Flaking ceiling tiles, damp and damage to same, stains on walls and broken furniture. I'm sure it's an environmental health breach.
Curt service, flies in the waste container on the counter and CHARGED NINE POUNDS THIRTY EIGHT PENCE for a MEDIUM COFFEE, which I did not realise until I had left the station and seen my bank notice. DAYLIGHT ROBBERY IN MISERY.

Awful. Where do I even begin? I got scolded for asking for a Vanilla Latte, blonde woman serving me said “why can’t you just be normal”? I was really taken aback by this comment. Shop is filthy, run down, and poorly managed.
I always enjoy having a hot chocolate in the morning before my train, and the prices are very affordable. I've never had a tastier hot chocolate!
