Pure South Kitchen

I recently visited this restaurant for dinner and was disappointed to find that they did not have any vegan options on the menu. I had to settle for a salad without honey dressing. When I informed my server that I was vegan, they kindly provided me with a list of dishes that could be modified to accommodate my dietary needs (approximately 5 options). I chose the vermicelli noodles salad, which was fresh but lacking in flavor. Unfortunately, I also discovered two hairs in my salad. I alerted my server and they compensated me $40 of the $155 total bill. I dined with three non-vegan friends who rated the food 3.5 out of 5. I had about 10 friends who fully enjoy their meat dishes but were fascinated with my choice. I asked the person who took my order when my decisions were vegan and he knew his things. He helped me adapt the Chia pudding with berries, almonds and lemon by using the curd (sorry I don't know what) and it was delicious. As a Southbank local, this is my way to no probs. I absolutely adore the food at Pure South restaurant. The quality is top-notch and sourced from Tasmania! The staff is friendly, the service is excellent, and they have an impressive wine selection. I have never been disappointed at Pure South. Highly recommended! Noela

The food at this restaurant is incredibly fresh, with a great variety and amazing flavors. Sitting by the river on a Sunday adds to the relaxation while enjoying the delicious food and drinks. I highly recommend this place.
