as a historian, I really appreciate this place. it is a time trip to the 1980s when you should be Swedish, everything a pub needed was much brown, more than two beers on hahn, and a menu of overpriced meat and fish dishes. if it really dares, the menu might contain a vegie burger. sad for the pyrmont point the times have changed and the charging through the nose for very average, production line eating, no longer cut it independent of the faux vintage meets rsl decor. neither has only one vegetarian option on the main menu, especially if this option is the dead vegie burger that has not done any self-respecting restaurant for a decade. in the inner suburbs, that is. not if vegetarians...read...
What is wrong with you guys. Please acknowledge that the food in our local is awful and try something else. We wander back every 6 months as we live around the corner only to have to put up with disgraceful food at full tote prices. Again tonight, roast sold out as usual so in a lacklustre menu I had the parmy (awful), my wife had the pasta special (fatty and tasteless) and my mother-in-law had the sardines (OK). To the owners of this pub, what the heck are you doing ? Do you not care about the reviews ? Can't wait for the Terminus to reopen with hopefully some quality and well priced pub grub. Shameful.
Surly female with black faux suede shorts huffed at us after slamming an innocent chux on a table waiting to be wiped down. It was stupid of us to think we would be spoken to politely or a t least with some evidence of personality. It was also too late now to turn around leave, (a wise move had we listened to our intuition) as we'd placed our order and had paid the money. And what a fair bit of money that was. At $33.00 for a Scotch fillet that was more fat than meat, a measly salad chips that were no match for Maccas fries, a quality Gastro pub this is not.
surprisingly decent food for a pub! I would say a better food than other pubs in pyrmont. my favourite dishes were the hummus dip, which came with crispy cheeks and granata whispers on the top, and the Calamari/Squid, which was melted in the mouth. the cauliflower bhaji was a bit let in, it was still tasty and everything, but it was just a whole piece of cauliflower deep fried. tacos were decent. This is the favourite of the Pyrmont pubs. Corner location tucked away amongst the residents with staircase everywhere, plenty of high bench seating and history on the walls. Encouragement at the bar also with some drinks specials to tempt you not to move on. We did, but not to somewhere with more character. As ever keep Sydney open and support our heritage.
Nice location to enjoy an early Sunday dinner. I had the pork roast which came with a decent serve of vegetables and Yorkshire pudding with crackling, gravy and apple sauce. The kid's burger was a bit of a letdown with a measly meat patty. Friendly service and welcoming atmosphere.
very spacious. eating is ok and quite expensive it is not worth.) have tried a few main (fish and chicken,) it did not like much. good ambiente, outside sitting in the upper floor are good.

Very poor service from one female staff member. Rude and unprofessional. Your pub is not that good that you can afford to give inferior service. I'll be taking my drinking elsewhere.
