Queen Gyspy is a welcome treat in Brampton where mediocre Italian restaurants abound. This is a little place where delicious European fare, made from scratch is to be had at very reasonable prices. Schnitzel served with beets and coleslaw, perogies that are really good- none of that frozen doughy stuff, stuffed peppers, cabbage rolls. Entrees are $10 -$12. I would say you are satisfied when you leave there, but not stuffed. Having one of their delicious fresh salads with your meal is a good idea if you are hungry. The restaurant is decorated in an eclectic interesting way so that there is always something new to notice.

Queen Gypsy is my new local. Vera, the owner, is very hospitable. My wife and I have had dinner there on a number of occasions. The cuisine is Vera's grandmother's homemade Serbian / Eastern European. Simple, fresh ingredients with an uncluttered menu.I had probably the best bowl of vegetable soup there that I've ever eaten. Huge bowl brimming with fresh veg and lots of greens in a savoury tomato-y garlicky broth. A big hunk of homemade cornbread comes with it.Cabbage rolls are off the charts. Stuffed peppers are the real deal.Excellent prices on food and an assortment of craft and bottled beers.

My husband and I stopped by for a casual Friday night dinner, and what a treat! Eastern European food that Vera, the owner, describes as “simple” and that we found scrumptious. We each started with a small Serbian salad which was deliciously refreshing. Next we shared pierogies and cabbage rolls, which were some of the best we’ve had. If you have room for dessert, the blueberry filled pierogies are a nice touch, served with fresh fruit, and the baklava is perfect – beautiful flaky pastry and not too sweet! The comfortable atmosphere and friendly service rounded out a great experience!

If you want a place to unwind and enjoy some eastern European inspired food, this is where to go. The atmosphere is eclectic with a warm glow, and the staff welcoming. The food is very good, and reasonably priced. It is a small intimate space that is easy to miss from the street, but we'll worth the visit. Try the perogies, easily the best in town. We have been to Queen Gipsy a number of times since we first tried it in December. The cosy, friendly atmosphere has never wavered, the choice of background music is very interesting, and the quality of the food and the service is always pleasant. Vera has a wonderful touch with all the dishes she creates.

I'm not saying this place isn't that great in the summer, but when the temperature drops, this small gem really takes the chill away. Food is filling, hearty, and generous. It may be freezing outside, but a pint and some goulash will set you right.

We were a little late but they were happy to serve us. We enjoyed the atmosphere. It is small but, for me, a perfect size. It is an mid-to-eastern European restaurant with a menu that includes some of the best from different countries.

I enjoyed the quaint atmosphere and the pork schnitzel. The pricing is terrific and you get a fair bit for your meal. It didn't blow me away but it was good has a cool unique menu.

Home made and made to order. Delicious comfort food for a great price. Leave the restaurant chains behind for the night. You wont be sorry you did !
