Additionally, I observed that when other customers entered, the women who were sitting down got up to greet and assist them (possibly regular customers). These customers were white males, which made me feel less welcomed as nobody offered to help me (a black female) like they did for the other two men. This was my first visit to this location, and I definitely will not be returning. I also blurred the faces in the images I took.
I prefer St. Louis style pizza, so New York style pizza isn't really my thing. However, my wife loves it and this is her favorite place in town. The pizza is hot and greasy, just as you would expect from NY style. The salad we ordered last time was very large for two people, so keep that in mind. The service is good and the restaurant is spacious and clean. It's easier to park behind the restaurant than in the front.
On the plus side, it?s cheap. On the negative side, it?s not very good. The wait for a single slice of cheese pizza is too long and the pizza itself is too greasy. I?ve been to NYC a lot and this didn?t quite measure up to a typical dollar slice you?d find on just about any street there. If you come here, try a calzone instead.
Racanelli's Webster Groves Mo has done a great job with a last-minute group lunch order. I didn't know the Rac was recently closed. You have 4 XLarge pizzas, great $30 Pop's catering salad and 20 drinks together in 40 minutes for me. He saved me. All pizzas were warm, salad and drinks were cold. Everything was delicious. By far the best New York style pizza in St. Louis! Slices are huge and extremely delicious. I actually went to the Webster Groves location twice today because I love it so much. Staff is very nice and they have an expansive menu; plenty of options. I highly recommend it. Great prices too!
Racanelli's has the best Calzones in the area, hands down. Even though I live a bit far for delivery, it's worth the wait through Doordash. Forget about other places, Racanelli's is the place to go for delicious Calzones!
Do not listen to the few bad reviews, this place has the best pizza around. I'll get a slice every other day. That's it. Can I get a better lunch in the area for under $10.
