Finally had the time to have lunch here. It was AMAZING !! Mykala was our server. Delightful young lady. Very timely service. Bob had a tasty designer cocktail. I had a Bad Birdie citrus beer, as they serve no Blue Moon. This beer was EXCELLENT, locally brewed can be found Fry's. He had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich w/their signature Jalapeno cole slaw. Huge plate of food. Sandwich perfectly made, overflowing with sauteed onions, bell peppers shrooms, with gooey cheese. The slaw has the lightest heat despite the finely chopped jalapenos. The fun didn't end there; the walls (and even the ceiling in some areas) were adorned with historic license plates and vintage advertising signs, creating a really cool atmosphere with plenty to look at while we waited for our food. We ordered a beer on tap (they had an impressive selection, including several local microbrews, not just those from Phoenix) and a Diet Coke. For our meals, my husband chose the veggie flatbread, while I went for the "Phish and Chips" (all the dishes had cute names!). Additionally, we found an advertisement for local businesses that mentioned the Raceway Bar and Grill had been featured on American Pickers, one of my favorite TV shows from Iowa, where I grew up....
We were absolutely blown away by the hospitality, service, and the wonderful patrons at this establishment. Passing through town I looked this place up randomly on Yelp. And we decided to stop by because we read it was pet friendly everyone patronizing the establishment was absolutely amazing. The staff was super friendly and we had an amazing pizza. It was just so much fun to walk around the grounds and see all the amazing treasures that the owner has collected over the years. Once the pizza came? It was pretty darn good too. We visited on the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day and were greeted by a bagpiper playing, which added a nice touch as he performed from across the restaurant. However, it got quite loud when he was only 20 feet away. The place was busy, but the staff managed the tables efficiently. We ordered pizza, wings, and fried pickle spears. The BBQ wings were ideal for bar food – perfectly done. The pickle spears were tasty, but definitely needed to be eaten with a knife and fork since the breading falls off after a single bite. Now, let's talk about the food. The pizza is a genuine Chicago-style thin crust with a wonderfully chewy texture. The toppings were top-quality and abundant. The drinks were fantastic and always topped off. Also, they serve some of the best ranch dressing I've had in a long time. While it's located a bit out in the country, it's absolutely worth the drive. We came all the way from Phoenix, and this will definitely be our go-to pizza place every week!
Raceway never disappoints! Great food, fun atmosphere, really good service (Brianna was awesome! . This time we brought our puppy and enjoyed their awesome patio with the heater turned. Their pizza is always good, but we finally found our perfect combo- cherries, jalapeños, pepperoni, and garlic. Delicious! And the meatball sub the next day... just wow. High quality and fantastic. If the owner, Rand, suggests something- trust him!
Eating at Raceway Bar Grill their pizza is BOMB!!! Crust a bit thicker than I usually get but yummy we got half Canadian bacon pineapple with cherries without habaneros cowboy special with their garlic sauce rather than marinara. And tonight was wing special get 8, comes with 5 free. Honey bbq sauce. Couldn't stop eating them.
