My extended family of eleven went to Rae and Jerry's for a recent celebration, and had an excellent experience. The prices are not for the faint of heart (a hamburger costs around $27, steaks in the high $30s) but the food and service really are exceptional. This restaurant used to be good, not any more. We went to Rae Jerry's for a family reunion dinner. The front desk staff was more interested in themselves than the customers. They barely acknowledged our reservation, then stuck us in the back of the...restaurant. The waiter was awful, rude and talked over us. The meal is a preset dinner where you pick your main dish (meat or fish) and cannot substitute anything. The waiter said he could not make any changes because he does not know how to make the change at the register. you cannot order a different side dish. The service was slow. We 've been coming to this restaurant over the years and something has been happening. While the service was nice, the meal itself was horrible: overpriced and completely mediocre. It's a throwback to another era. Red banquettes, dim lighting, experienced wait staff complete with coat check. But what has kept this restaurant going well past the rat pack era is the food. Nothing fancy here...just the best steak and prime rib around. Meals come with either soup or tomato juice and two sides. We opted for salads which were basic but good. The prime rib comes with the option of English cut which is thinner. My two companions had the prime rib and I opted for the filet. I can't say enough about the meat as it was delicious and hardly belonged next to mediocre sides. We couldn't finish generous portions and took doggie bags. Tasted just as good the next day.

it wasn't a big bark-eater since I felt the offense for a steak. but if they try a restaurant fan and the love to the well-known facilities, they cannot come to winnipeg and do not go to randj. The...Steak-sizes more that I or my wife could treat in the rule, so I asked the waitress about the smallest steak available and they beat (and that was my secret hope, but didn't think it would be appropriate at a place like randj), that we could share a steak, and that we also have. delicious! servaice very friendly, atlmostphere has changed.
it's been a past since we've been at this winnipeg institution. so disappointed by this latest experience. first it has become very expensive and the quality does not measure upwards. I ordered the pickerel it was totally slandered with an inconspicuous brot. my man ordered the...primary nativity and it was much overdue. even the vegetables were cooked over. when we were there for a family meeting, I didn't want to disturb our time, but both were really unacceptable.
Bland, tasteless, dry steak served with a lump of dry mashed potatoes and a caesar salad that looked like it was from a mix from a grocery store. No presentation and a brutally long wait for any service made this a really poor dinning experience....For the price we could have had a great meal at any number of other restaurants. I have no idea how this place stays in business with food and service this bad.
The place looks so old ! The food was terrible!! It took 2 1/2 hours to be served !!! I work in hospitality , and it was the worst restaurant I have been to in Wpg , cold vegetables!! Raw meat : it was just...gross !! And the only thing they did was deduct the raw meat dish from the bill !! We were celebrating a b day ! And they even charged for the b day s dessert !

I brought my man here for the Father's Day. our server was linda. linda was very friendly and very helpful. although it was very busy, she always had a smile on her face. eating is very good and the prices are in comparison to other fine restaurants. we're coming back.
