So this place boasts a Michelin star, which is an interesting claim given that the Michelin guide doesn 't really do Canada. It turns out that this restaurant is a part of a chain with its origins in New York, which is where that star was awarded. This is not a bad thing, since New York has a lot more competition in the ramen sphere than Edmonton does, and apparently this uses their recipes.I have pretty high standards for ramen, set by a bunch of narrow little ramen counters in Japanese alleyways and chefs who 've made it their life. This restaurant in the ice district serves delicious ramen with a fusion twist. The flavors are amazing and the bowls are deep and satisfying. Parking can be found all around if you are driving in from outside the city core, but it may come at an extra cost. The food and service are worth it though. The atmosphere is comfortable and encourages you to take your time enjoying your meal. The music selection adds to the overall experience and the prices are in line with other dining options. I had the gold kome special and silver Shiro bowl special. Both are 10 nucks during happy hour between 2-5 and bowls are a tad smaller.Golden comes with cha siu, half egg, egg noodles, potatoe wedge, minced pork and some vegetation. Soup broth tastes meaty, than a little sour. Egg noodles a little tougher, char siu was tough and over cooked. Having the potatoe was a little strange as well.Silver came with alot of similar things but different miso soup (kome vs shiro). This one also had a sour taste but more of a rich and milky taste as well. Came with a piece of deep fried tofu which can feel a little random as well, but compliments better than the potatoe.

I ordered the deluxe tan tan noodles and was delighted with the generous portion size and the delicious flavor - some of the best ramen I've ever had. My waiter was polite and attentive, despite a small mix-up that caused a slight delay in receiving my order. The restaurant has a great atmosphere that caters well to both solo diners and groups, and it was bustling with activity on a Saturday night. Plus, its convenient location near the LRT station and many downtown hotels make it a great choice for locals and tourists alike.
I got the vegetarian options last night. Veg gold kome miso ramen, agedashi tofu, mushroom skewer, miso egg, and kimchi. My most favourite dish was the mushroom skewer and it is also very inexpensive! The flavours are so great. Followed by the ramen and sides. The agedashi tofu was a bit bland for my liking, however it was light and enjoyable nevertheless. I really liked the service and the ambiance, and will definitely be a returning customer!
Love the “gold” ramen! Always delicious, and even when you get it to go it arrives hot and the noodles keep their texture.The aroma is so irresistible, I have had people order from here because they smelled mine in the break room that’s how good it is!
