Recently, my brother invited me for a day trip to Los Angeles and mentioned he had found some dining spots he wanted to try. Before I could suggest places, he presented me with a list of historical sites he wanted to check out. Thankfully, Randy’s Donuts ticked both our boxes: a place to eat and a kitschy landmark to visit. Neither of us had been there before. My brother was eager to see examples of “mimetic” or “programmatic” architecture, which refers to buildings designed to resemble certain objects. These structures often mimic the very products they represent, like the giant donut at Randy's or the colossal hot dog that was once part of the Valley O’ the Pup (which, as we later discover...
Iconic Randy's Donuts sign on top of the building is enticing ...so I got lured in and bought a dozen to share. Cost about $30 for a mixed dozen of the classic, deluxe, fancy and premium (see the menu pic). Absolutely LOVE the Maple Long John with Cream and Lemon Old Fashioned -YUM!!! Worth the calories. Guy (service) at the window/register was so nice, knowledgable (he knew what was in stock) and patient. Drive thru and walk up to the window to order. Seemingly always a line with both: drive and walk-up. Not much of a selection left at 10PM on a Thursday night when I went -just FYI. Very casual donut spot. Free small parking lot. Open 24/7.

The iconic donut shop I had seen in Iron Man 2. Hands down my favorite donut place!!! It’s sooo fresh and fluffy ..they have endless options. Worth every dollar cent! The ice coffee is so caffeinated gave me energy and kept me awake. The service was very quick and the cashier lady was friendly. That Texas Glazed donut is truly exceptional. It's light and airy, with just the right amount of glaze. It arrived warm and was an unexpected delight. The Topped Rounds are also great, though I wish we could choose the flavors. Still, they're really good! I'm eager to try more.
The donuts here are incredible! They're incredibly soft and delicious! I've been a regular for years, and every time I'm in the area, I make sure to grab some to take home. They’re open 24 hours, which is a huge plus! I highly recommend checking them out!
The cereal donuts are absolutely delicious! I tried the Froot Loop and Cinnamon Toast Crunch donuts, and both the toppings and the donuts themselves were incredible!

The Apple fritter and glazed Crondy were amazing!! I definitely recommend trying them (especially the crondy).
