We 've heard great things about Ransom 's over the years from friends in the area. We were across the street playing mini golf and decided to give it a try. There didn 't seem to be a lot of customers at 8:00 Friday night. One other couple on patio with us, a table of maybe 12-14 inside, maybe handful of others scattered. There were intriguing items on the menu, some of which we tried. One was fried cauliflower. Since they had fried buffalo tenders, we asked them to put the cauliflower in the buffalo sauce. The restaurant has a clean and pleasant atmosphere, with very friendly and attentive staff. The food is decent, although a bit pricey. Unfortunately, the drinking water was poor; I had to ask for extra lemons to make it drinkable. The live music was interesting but too loud, and the performer didn't know the lyrics to a few songs. He talked loudly enough that it was difficult to hear him through the microphone. We would have enjoyed our dinner more if we could have had a conversation without competing with his singing. First time here. Nice service and food is great. I recommend the pork chops with mushrooms on top. You can choose two sides with every meal. I ordered the creamy Mac n cheese and the fried okra. They served steaks, chicken, shrimp fried or sautee, beisket, tacos, and more. There is a full bar open for cocktails in the evening. They also sell various cuts of beef, rib eye, sirloin, soup bones, and ground beef. The cows are raised in the area, grass fed with no hormones. I will come back. I was passing through Montgomery and decided to stop by this restaurant. The customer service was excellent. We both ordered chicken fried steak, which was very tasty and well-seasoned, and we really enjoyed the cream gravy that accompanied it. The sweet potato fries, baked potato, and corn were all good as well. The fried okra was enjoyable but slightly undercooked. The rolls were fantastic!
