We have been a few times to this restaurant in the past couple years. It has lovely views and many walking opportunities around. The first time we went there, we had to pay for parking but we did not have any coins. We were planning to go for a coffee at the restaurant and so my husband asked the staff if they could change the bill into coins so we could pay the parking fee. He was told no, that is not possible, this is not their responsibility. Eventually he asked to order a glass of water and then got change that way. We thought okay, fine, maybe this person was just having a bad day. We went again yesterday and it was admittedly very busy. We were directed to go find a table in the Salle....
We were visiting friends in Switzerland and they took us to Restaurant Raten. The staff is simply lovely and the portions of food are abundant. The setting is also wonderful as the views of the alps are everywhere. Unfortunately the restaurant has a huge fly problem and no screens on their windows. This is puzzling because they can definitely afford to put them in and they exist in Switzerland. The flies were truly overwhelming and put a damper on our evening. They are literally everywhere, all over the food, in your face, and on our arms hands. SORRY but this restaurant really needs to do something about this.
Not worth the money. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, it was very cramped. My food wasn‘t properly cooked and lacked taste. Since it’s one big room, it‘s very loud. The pricing in general is much too high considering the quality experience. The staff is visibly stressed. The only possible time to have a nice meal with family may be when it‘s not sunny and the restaurant isn‘t packed, but even then the food would sadly taste the same. The view is nice, though.
Skip that restaurant, they don’t like when you share your ice cream with your loved one. Just like at the Walliserkanne in Zermatt, the owner of the Raten also broke the law, defied Covid rules and screened a controversial misleading film during the pandemic. I’ll never spend a dime there again!
Been here many times for lunch. This time for dinner. Although weirdly very quiet for a Friday evening, the service and food were excellent. We think it was inclement weather and the night before Xmas Eve put folk off from venturing up the mountain. This restaurant is consistently good.
Schreckliche Erfahrung Wir aßen zu Abend und alles war extrem salzig, selbst für Leute, die salziges Essen mögen, war es extrem salzig. Wir haben mit der Kellnerin darüber gesprochen, aber überhaupt kein Mitgefühl. Es ist ein Restaurant, das ich auf keinen Fall empfehlen werde
Fantastischer Abenddrink bei untergehender Sonne. Ein schöner Ort, den man als Vase für einen Spaziergang nutzen kann. Wir waren begeistert, einen Fensterplatz zu finden. Toller Service, tolle Getränke und fantastisches Eis
We ordered an antricote and 2 types of pasta and everything was delicious. Portions are not very large, but the taste is great.
Go for a hike nearby and have lunch or dinner. Especially on a warm day the atmosphere is live. Great desserts and Salads..
