The food here - pretty standard Chinese - is quite good, and reasonably priced. The restaurant itself is quite modest - though far from ugly or uninviting. Nearly all the business (at least when I was there) was takeaway. I only ate in because I was staying in a nearby hotel.The front of house/order taker was a singularly cheerless youth. Very few words escaped his mouth, and even fewer smiles. Actually,none. Somehow I don't think he is looking at a long-term career in the hospitality business.
Staying nearby we walked to grab dinner,Ordered duck with plum sauce which was fantastic bone free with a perfect tempura coating, crispy and fresh.Special fried rice which was delicious.King prawn chow mein which was ok - not the same as we are use to prawns ok, not much veg, tons of noodles and a soyish based sauce made it more like noodles from a wok place.Also had honey chicken which was good. We would return to eat here.
Ate here whilst we were staying at the motel around the corner. It was one of the few places in walking distance. The cafe/restaurant seating area is very basic but fine. I got the impression it is more of a take away than a sit in place. The food came out quickly and was tasty. The portion sizes however were huge, so great value for money. If I lived in the area I would use it as a take away but wouldn't sit in again.
Bought 2 lunchtime specials as I was passing for a take away. Char Kway Teo ($14) and garlic chicken with fried rice ($9). Reasonable size serves. Also bought 6 Spring Rolls for $6.60 with sauce which was good value as they were not tiny ones that I expected for that price. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Good but not amazing. We needed a restaurant near where we were staying for one night. There were 2 of us and a serve of pork in peking sauce and white rice was plenty for us. As others have said the place is nothing flash but it was clean and service good.
Lucky Chan's is awesome! The food and atmosphere is delicious and funTheir Karaage Chicken Bao Taco's (?) and alcoholic bubble teas are sooo good.
The setting is nothing flash, but the menu choices and the helpful staff compensated for this. The meal was well priced. A good place to eat.
