New landlord, new team. Soft opening tonight after taking the keys on Tuesday. A few subtle changes to layout and decor. It all works really well. Place was rammed. Really nice atmosphere, still a proper local but new bar staff and kitchen properly on their A game. We had steak, salad and truffle/parmesan chips. £19 and absolutely delicious. Well worth a visit, especially as the coming weeks likely to see ever more upgrades. Loved it. Well done Harry and team.
Forget about the negative reviews, the couple have been running it for less than a year. Craig and Mrs run a beautiful wee pub, full of character and dinner was beautifully presented and tasted just delightful. Pity the regulars all seem to think they are snobs or wannabe snobs which is really sad but hey small village big egos. Overall worth every penny and we will go back
The Red Lion has made a triumphant return and is in better condition than it has been in over two decades. After a tumultuous past five years of revolving door management, running a successful village pub seemed like a challenging task. However, in just one evening, the Red Lion has elevated itself to a whole new level of excellence.
My family and I enjoyed a fantastic lunch at the Red Lion. The roast dinners were delicious and our server Jack was very friendly and courteous. He patiently explained the menu to us and served our food and drinks with great skill. I highly recommend this restaurant to others as it is a wonderful place to have a casual meal. i was eating dinner and a lady waiter was terrible and served us badly with a short temper and then lovely jack came along and was perfect helped us and recommended the duck leg which was scrumptious and i would recommend
Craig’s menu is modest but he excels at everything you might order. And his Sunday lunch roast is a beauty. Looks and tastes delicious and very doubtful you’ll have room left for pud! Highly recommend.
The pub had a great atmosphere, but I was disappointed with both the food and service. When I asked for my meal to be reheated, there was no apology given. The local atmosphere was enjoyable, though.

"Visited for lunch today after a tour of Hook Norton Brewery food was excellent and lovely friendly service. We were celebrating a friends 60th and they kindly decorated a plate with chocolate Happy Birthday and put a candle in his dessert. Would highly recommend!"
