After spending a day at the beach, we were searching for a place to eat and happily stumbled upon this delightful restaurant on our way home. Even though we arrived during peak hours and had to wait a bit, it was well worth it! The food was outstanding—we enjoyed chicken with fries and gravy. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and I was thrilled by the selection of local craft beers on offer. We can't wait to come back on our next visit to Newfoundland!
I ordered the chicken tenders and fries, and they were absolutely fantastic. Three pieces are really all you need; I got five, and it was clearly too much. The tenders were made from pure boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into large slices, and they were incredibly tender. The home fries were equally delightful. We left feeling very satisfied. The service was excellent and prompt too. Thank you, Red Ochre. We will definitely return again and again!
After a visit to the beach we were looking for a place to eat, on our way back home we stumbled upon this lovely restaurant. We got there during rush hour so we knew we had to wait for a bit but it was absolutely worth it! The food was delicious(chicken-fries and gravy), the staff was very friendly and I was thrilled to see the selection of local craft beer. See youagain on our next trip to Newfoundland!
There is plenty of parking available, the service is prompt, the food is delightful, and the interior is charming. They also provide patio seating. I had the battered fish and poutine fries, while my husband chose the chicken and poutine. For dessert, we selected the house-made cheesecakes. Red Ochre Cafe is an amazing place to visit, whether you arrive by car or bike along the nearby CBN Trailway. Known for their delicious cheesecake, they also offer excellent pub food that has received great reviews. I highly recommend this restaurant! I'll certainly be back whenever I can.
Lots of parking, fast service, delicious food and beautiful inside. Patio seating available. I had the battered fish and poutine fries, hubby had the chicken and poutine. With in-house made cheesecakes for desert. During the meal many people stopped injust for the cheesecakes (to go).
I?m from Haliburton, Ontario and have a small home in Grates Cove. This is my favourite restaurant. The service, food and especially the cheesecakes Carol makes are Outstanding. Thank you for the friendly, excellent service.
This place has it all! Great menu, great food, the North Shore is very fortunate to have this restaurant and it's worth a trip to eat here. The cheesecake is the best in Newfoundland and I've tried every flavor. Five stars! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The drive is always worthwhile, and the food is consistently spectacular! If you haven't been to Red Ochre Cafe yet, I definitely recommend checking it out!
