We love going to weds trivia as often as we can ! As a working couple , we often have dinner here so we can get to the club in time for the start of Mike Van Ackers excellent quiz. We order on or before 6.30 every time we come and wait until 7.45 pm before our buzzer alerts us to fetch our dinner from the servery! This happens every week religiously ! Can it really take anHour and 15 mins to produce fried food ??! The food is cheap , and so it should be! it's mostly overcooked, thrown together , and occasionally looks like it has been run over by a golf buggy before we get it ! We've tried the "specials" but they are so "special" we gave up , as they are variously Finished or look like they...
After having given the bistro a miss for quite a while after some disappointing meals, we decided to try again and were pleasantly surprised. The lunch was very busy having coincided with a golf tournament, however the kitchen was still able to get out pleasant meals in good time. The kitchen staff did seem disorganised and lacked professional presentation, with no-ne clearly leading the way, a variety of dress some being professional and others not! Anyway, the result was one of the best schnitzels I have had in some time, well priced, tasty and enjoyable. There is certainly scope for improvement but a great result compared to our last visit 12 months or more ago.
Travel back in time and thats what you would eat, food that failed to excite from a stuck in time menu. Food was produced and the care and detail was missed.The service was ok, a lot of people serving doing nothing. It was a weeding and the pre dinner finger foods were few and far between, Coffee and tea basic instant. Service between was long and drawn out, again no attention to detail. Everything was tough, even the fish. It has potential, maybe on as a restaurant good but as a function place, no difference between club and function, casual to the point of boring
We decided to become members which is a great idea as you get discounted meals and drinks. My son had the pizza - which he enjoyed, while I had the Beef and Guiness Pie with mashed potato and vegetables. The pastry was amazing, the filling tasty, the mashed potato was a bit dry and the veggies (corn & carrots ) were well cooked. The atmosphere is very relaxed and quiet and was a great place for my grandson to move around and not be a bother to anyone. I was in a group of about 25 ladies having the set Christmas menu. We booked in advance and were seated in a private room at lovely tables decorated festively. Our main course included ham and pork, roast vegies, carrots & beans which was all good but the crackling was DELICIOUS. Dessert was included in the set $21.95 price and was either hot Christmas pudding with custard, or cold pavlova with fresh fruit. I was very happy with everything. Thank you.
Dinner for a family is just great here. If you join to become a member (very cheap to join) you get discounts on your meals and drinks (pays for itself on the first visit). The decor is basic but the restaurant is clean and the staff very friendly. The menu has a great variety and the meal sizes are perfect. Drinks are reasonably priced. It's most probably the best value for money restaurant from Victoria Point to Redland Bay.
The golf club serves tasty bistro meals at a reasonable price. There is a good variety. Sometimes the chips are not freshly cooked which is disappointing. The steak is always cooked to your liking. The drinks are reasonably priced from the bar. The kids club is not a good as other clubs in the area. They need more entertainment for the kids. If the kids club was better fitted out they would get more families eating there.
We went for dinner on Monday night. The food was basic but really good and readonably priced making this a great venue for any night finnner! Plenty of choices and very good quality. Everyone at our table was happy. I will be returning often . Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
great food and very good for wedding etc. I would recommend, here for special occasions as well as just a family meal or snack.
