Here's a quick review: I absolutely LOVE the food here! The owners are incredibly nice, and the dishes created by the chef are exceptional. She is very kind and accommodating—she'll gladly modify any dish by adding or removing ingredients based on your preferences, as long as she has them on hand. I've been visiting Racer’s for over 20 years and have always cherished the place, from the days of peanut shells on the floor and the old pool table in the back to its current form. The addition of food has been fantastic. No longer do I have to stop at Taco Bell or Dominick’s to grab a bite to eat before coming here. This has typically been a reliable place for dinner, but I've noticed a decline in service and atmosphere during my recent visits. I haven't seen Manny during my last two trips (three if we include the time we arrived to find the restaurant unexpectedly closed), and his absence was definitely felt. Right now, Red's is operating more as a takeout kitchen for Racer's, lacking any front-of-house staff or a liquor license, which is quite disappointing given how great it used to be. The owners seemed noticeably stressed when we arrived, and the service we eventually received was curt and uninviting. Overall, it was a big letdown.
I had a family dinner here for my 21st birthday and it was an amazing experience! I was drawn to Reds for the the large wine selection, but everything about the restaurant was amazing. Manny waited on us and offered great knowledge about the wine selection, and was very attentive considering the amount of tables he was handling. I knew I wanted to come here for some time and had read the great reviews, but the experience was better than anything I could have anticipated. I’m so excited to come again :
Parkville’s Best Kept Secret! The service here deserves 5 stars!They help you taste and select a wine based on what you like. The food is fresh and delicious. We came here to celebrate my sister's college graduation. I had never been before but my sister and her husband have. They were so friendly, food was amazing and they were so accommodating! They really helped make the night special.
Always a great time when I visit, usually on Taco Tuesday. Food is delicious and a good selection. Manny gives great wine recommendations and makes great wine cocktails.
This place is always wonderful. Good find, everything is reasonably priced. And you can always go next door if you want a beer or mixed drink.
