Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Average offerings on menu and average salads and deserts on offer. Prices are okay but so is the food...just okay. Also, decor is looking old and dated.Check carefully with menu, not all things come with chips. e.g. the Braised Lamb Shank Pie was a small portion on its own. Misreading of the menu and you would think that you are getting the mash potato and mushy peas with the tomatoes pepper medly sauce separately BUT it is all part of the very small pie!!I recommend the bistro should have a photo of every meal to indicate portion size, this would be a great help for unsuspecting customers like me.
We visited the bistro to enjoy a steak after being without power for 12 days following Tropical Cyclone Debbie. I ordered the fillet steak and it was cooked perfectly, with a delicious pepper sauce. The side of mushrooms and spinach was seasoned to perfection. The kids' meals were served quickly and were a good size. They enjoyed the play room and the self-serve ice cream and dessert buffet. The kitchen staff remained calm and efficient, even with 480+ covers for dinner. The food was well-presented and not rushed. While my wife's steak was overcooked, we still enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the restaurant and plan to return.
I went to this restaurant with a group of friends and the only positive thing was that it was air-conditioned. There were 6 of us and we all ordered steaks, each cooked to our preferences (rare, medium, well done, etc.). Unfortunately, all of the steaks were overcooked, except for the one person who ordered theirs well done. The restaurant was not busy so there was no excuse for the poor preparation. Each steak cost over $30, so we expected them to be cooked properly. Sadly, this experience has led us to not want to return to Reef Gateway. We were very disappointed and will not be coming back.
Have visited many times with friends, family, bingo and work meetings. The food is always good especially the steaks, always so tender and cooked perfectly.We have had a few issues with a couple of the staff but the others do make up for it.Great spot for lunch or dinner. Oh and not forgetting bingo for a bit of fun.

If you are hungry and want value for money get to the Reef Gateway! Super sized T bone for $2 when you order off the grill menu! I couldn't finish mine! Cooked to perfection and accompanied by all you can eat salad and dessert! The staff are super friendly and helpful! Definitely value for money!
Busy place, just like an RSL but the food is fabulous, reasonably priced and quickly arrives from the kitchen. The queue to order is rather annoying considering there are two tills that could be used. I would definitely return for a well priced fabulous feed. Huge choice too.
We had dinner here two nights in a row and were very happy. The menu is fairly extensive; pizza, pasta, grill choices plus the salad and dessert bar. Staff were friendly and one even replaced a kids meal when I had ordered incorrectly. Great service!
Staff who seemed like they didn't want to be there and the absolute worst hamburger I have ever been served. It was tough and tasteless ( not sure how you make mince tough, but, you excelled). You really need to lift your game people.

We ordered the courtesy bus from Flame Tree Tourist Park & had a great night with family. The food was excellent. Put some money in the tin for the PCYC to raise funds after cyclone Debbie.
Treat yourself and visit this place for a perfectly cooked eye fillet steak, along with a generous all-you-can-eat salad bar and dessert bar :)
