We came here at the end of August, the shelter was not so busy but the atmosphere was great. The host speaks many languages and is very sweet and welcoming. We had dinner and slept in the shelter one night and hiked up to the Mont Pelat on the next morning, 100% recommend the hike. The dinner was so tasty and portions were big. Without pretension and basing in the landscape, the Lac d'Allos refuge allowed us to stop after having made the lake tower and before leaving on our steps! We stopped there only for a good little homemade hot chocolate but the refuge also offers overnight stays in dorm mode and a family kitchen proposed in the room or terrace depending on the time of the day: CB not accepted (from the zero network I suppose! but cash and checks OK! We loved this natural side of the batisse (not to mention the very welcoming team on site! which does not denote with the beautiful landscape preserved in this valley!
Great last night of the season (and night at the Lac d’Allos refuge! It was a first in this shelter, the welcome is warm, the whole team is in the care. The dinner was too good, the digestive too: Very good atmosphere, view of the lake: in the evening, in the morning or at the end of the day, it is beautiful! I broke out and came alone, I paved with a lot of people, which I found the next day in different places during my rando at the Pelat. It was still the opportunity to laugh again!
Everything is explained on their site, it is a REFUGE and not a hotel!! The welcome is therefore very warm, the hearty and delicious meals (thank you Gersande ! . Welcome to the top and without chichi. Super friendly and friendly team. Tasty and hearty meals. Very correct sleep despite the beds and back cover largely sufficient for a good night's sleep. only for coffee early in the morning, but the location is stunning, well worth the 45 hike to a well defined away from the parking lot. make an early start to appreciate the place to stay the most peaceful or better in the night.
