We prebooked a table at this popular restaurant at the top of the Col by Vars. We walked there from Vars on one of the winter trails. There is a large accommodation building behind the restaurant. The food was rather good and the service friendly. We continued the walk afterwards, though the trails were less easy to follow. There is a free bus back to town.

Cadre magnifique à 2000m en pleine nature en face du lac Chambre simple mais très cosy Cuisine excellente Très bon accueil avec nos chiens Ambiance très sympa Departs de sentiers de randonnée au pied de l’hôtel navette bus sur le parking Bref un super séjour !
we have booked a table in this popular restaurant at the top of the col by vars. we went from vars on one of the winter routes. behind the restaurant is a large accommodation building. eating was quite good and the service friendly. we continued the walk after that, although the trails were less easy to follow. there is a free bus back to the city.
I really liked this place as it’s very unique. In the middle of nowhere... small restaurant which serves local cuisine. Food is good, however nothing really special. Friendly staff. Place is very quiet and calm... I would recommend this place in order to see the view and to have this experience. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
restaurant at the entrance of the vars station, magnificent view of the summits. beautiful decoration, warm welcome. menu greedy, we opted for the mountaineering plate with hot cheese box, charcuterie, raw vegetables: a real pleasure without forgetting the divine pie with mirabelles!
le service déplorable, une des serveuses est plus que désagréable voir agressive avec aucun humour. C’est dommage , car ce restaurant a une vue magnifique et les plats sont très bons. Je dirais donc merci qu’au chef en cuisine.
By walk to Col de Vars was nice to stop for short break here. Atmosphere of old times and history, with nice view...lake was still frozen but can be also spectacular!
