I can't fault this place. I've eaten lunch here many times and you get friendly, efficient service and most importantly quality, wholesome food with a varied menu. Some of it is good ole British grub, some more continental, but it's always reasonably priced. Very clean place too, but without being so sanitised it loses the community feel, which is another thing I like about it. Not what you'd call a restaurant, but more than your greasy spoon, it has the feel of a decent community canteen with decent, local people working in it, and a place for everyone. Full marks for this place. You don't get modest but nice places like this in the more poncey parts of London.
Popped in for a lunchtime snack while in the area based on previous TA reviews. Loved this place. Bright, fresh and clean. Staff all friendly and helpful. Went for a toastie which initially appeared pricey, and a very reasonably priced baked potato. What arrived to our table was HUGE portions of well cooked and very tasty food. Amazing value for money, and to be honest we could have shared either plate between us.and still been well fed. Fully recommend finding this place for a bite to eat. Beyond that it’s heartwarming to see the positive results of a well run community education and business enterprise, served up plenty food for thought too!!!
After a guided walk around Barking, we decided to stop by this restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The coffee was both reasonably priced and delicious. The cakes also looked and tasted amazing. We had a sneak peek at their upcoming food offerings, set to launch in early October, and we cannot wait to come back for more. We will definitely be returning!
I went to this restaurant for lunch and had no complaints about the food or service. However, I was disappointed to see two female staff members acting in a bullying manner towards two male customers with special needs. It's great that this is a community cafe that provides work and training opportunities, but witnessing this behavior was disheartening.
Been in twice now for two days in a row. Good choice on the menu, and some different things. Like the specials board. I’d recommend the fish, really good, particularly liked you can have it cooked how you want, perfect if you’re trying to avoid fried food. Chicken skewers were also excellent. The staff at this restaurant are friendly, helpful, and highly skilled at their jobs. The chefs prepare delicious food, as my order of pork ribs was cooked beautifully. I would highly recommend dining here, as they take excellent care of their customers and are very pleasant people. A perfect 10/10 experience.
I love the roasted vegetable jacket potatoes here. You are asked whether you want humus on top or beside the potato, on top tastes great in my opinion. This cafe has a great busy atmosphere and the staff work hard to serve the steady flow of customers.
The manager was very helpful and efficient and it was nice seeing him talking to and helping the helpers who have problems of one sort or another. The food arrived promptly was first class, and well priced we will go there again
Superb venue for lunch. Friendly staff, fast service. Food was fantastic and great value. The poached fish with mushy pees and salad was excellent.
