Still suffering from a little Jet lag, after a busy day driving around the Yarra Valley wine region and on the way back to the hotel having seen the Penguins I decided I was hungry and an early dinner was in order. Walked past Republica on route back to the Hotel - Oysters great rest of the menu was safe, but just about in line with what I fancied. So decided to go for it.Met with a lovely warm welcome from the Front of house staff, this place must be a nightmare in the summer but now a little oasis of tranquillity. settled down to order Oysters and seafood Linguine when my attention was drawn to the specials board by the lovely waitress - Corn fed duck with charred cabbage, quince, pumpkin...
It was originally a candidate for the restaurant on the pier that was not opened, but it was unexpectedly delicious. The restaurant is on the southernmost side of the whole building, which is exactly the farthest side of the st kilda penguin observation point. It seems to be a popular attraction. The parking lot is charged throughout the day, whether it is consumed or not. There are fewer people, and the seafood noodles are really good. My wife likes it very much. I ordered a steak, which is also good. Seafood noodle Steak is about 70 Australian dollars.
We visited Republica for our niece's 15th birthday - a weekday tea for the family. 8 of us in all and we all enjoyed our meals. From pizza to gnocchi to fish and chips - the menu covers all tastes and needs. Good service and prompt delivery of the food to us all without hurrying, plenty of room around the tables too - not squashed in like some places! Lovely open fire on a cold night too.
This restaurant has a great outlook overlooking the bay and on a rather cold Melbourne day the place was very busy which is a good indication of its popularity.The menu was suffice,the interior was cosy and the meals were great value.The staff were super efficient and very friendly.A great place for lunch.

The restaurant over looks the water and was very busy on the Saturday afternoon we visited. We shared dips (ordinary), roasted cauliflower, (fantastic) roasted carrots (delicious) and chilli prawn pasta (good). Sides were the standout. great live music was being played in courtyard, but it was very cold.
We arrived in St Kilda on a Friday arvo and this was the only place that seemed to have people in there. Outside they these basket chairs and not just a couple, they had a few around which was great. The food was AWESOME and **** yummy. Recommend to go here
Food was absolutely beautiful, we had a perfect view at the front window for our group booking. Waitresses were amazing, super friendly and our glasses were never empty. Thanks so much for the perfect afternoon. Will definitely be back.
Very pleasant lunch in this restaurant by the beach. Huge, well organized, with friendly service. Very good quality dishes. Live musical atmosphere. Impression of eating on the beach

Came here for a function with work, lovely food , excellent service , great location , good wine and beers to
Waitress was friendly and helpful. Cocktails were nice however food was average (particularly the gnocchi).
