Republix Cocktail Grille

I stopped by for a drink before a show and managed to find a spot at the bar. The bartender was right in front of me, so I asked him for two drinks, only to be told that he was on rotation. I then watched him serve a Diet Coke to the woman next to me, take a trip to the kitchen for ranch sauce, make a cosmopolitan for the guy on my other side, and serve the girl a couple of seats down something that I hoped would keep her quiet. He then proceeded to chat with another bartender and made a drink for someone further down the bar. This all happened around 7 PM when the place was no longer busy. I had dinner last night at Republic Food Drink, located next to Playhouse Square. While I must say that the food was well-prepared and delicious, I have to point out that the prices have increased, and the portion sizes have become noticeably smaller. I'm not expecting massive servings, but my short rib entrée was surprisingly insufficient. It came with just three asparagus stalks and a small scoop of mashed potatoes for $35! Frankly, it was barely larger than an appetizer. I won’t be returning. That’s final.

This place is so cool! The inside gives off and awesome vibe and we had a knowledgeable and attentive server. The drinks were tasty and strong and the food was amazing! I only wish the menu had a bit more options/variety. We got the short rib (couldn't try the desired prime rib since we went on a night that there was no play), a salad and loaded baked potatoes, along with the cauliflower appetizer. All of it was wonderful and very filling! Definitely would return.

We visited Cleveland for a baseball game and made a reservation at Republic, driving straight there. It was quiet when we arrived, as our reservation was at 4:30, allowing us to check into our hotel before the game. Please note that the current menu is more limited than what you might find in the menu section, so I'm sharing the details here. However, everything we ordered was delicious, and the staff was extremely friendly. We're very glad we decided to stop by!
