I knew I wanted to eat at Battuto the moment I saw the Air Canada EnRoute magazine naming them the best new restaurant in Canada. The only issue was to obtain a reservation. Luckily for us, their online tool works well and I was able to secure 2 seats, even though the wait was MONTHS! The arrival is friendly and intimate. Our coats were taken downstairs and we were seated at the counter right in front of the kitchen action. I was at first disappointed we didn 't get a table, but I very soon changed my mind entirely and now think this is actually the way to go. What a wonderful evening. After trying for several days we were lucky enough to get a last minute booking. We were seated at the bar which was great as we live to watch what the chefs are doing. The food was superb and the staff very friendly. It was fascinating to watch what was going on. Although a small menu everything was beautifully and carefully prepared and presented. The food was delicious. We were delighted to get a last minute booking. We have been travelling in Quebec for 2 weeks and this has been the best meal we have had. We were even given a recommendation for Montreal by the staff. A great evening. Thankyou..
Nice architecture and plating, nice restaurant...We ordered 6 plates and a bottle of wine for two people; with the whole sharing experience... Cauliflower was amazing but this place is probably just not for me and that's okay. I'm not into the dining over three and half hours in three courses. IMO having two rigid services is okay, but i wasn't in the mindset to have my appetizer at 9:20pm, i was starving by then and anything would have been fantastic.
This tiny restaurant offered amazing food! Getting a reservation here was not easy by any means but definitely worth it. It Is located 10 mins from the Quebec City old Port. All the dishes we had were perfectly prepared and had amazing taste. The service was also very good. We would recommend this place on your next visit to Qc city ! The only recommendation would be to have the restaurant in a larger space.
We were a table of 4 people, the service was exceptional . We decided to share several dishes and although the menu is simple it is very good and presented very well. The outside of the building is very non descriptive but this is a hidden gem and highly highly recommended .
North Italian gem in the middle of Quebec. Fantastic food from appetizer to dessert. Italian focused food with a Quebec twist and local ingredients. It can be very loud but that's okay part of the experience and I recommend you eat at the counter. Highly recommend!
If you can get a table then DO !! Beware 2-3 months waiting time a get a table, and for good reason. This is the best Italian food in Quebec City. The service was also great.
This is a unique restaurant with very good food, excellent service, music which is too loud, a bit cramped but cozy. Recommended.
What a night. No fault from start to finish.Wine pairing, sevice ambiance. Sit at the bar, well worth waiting 2 months.
