Excellent. Evening started with a weirdly aggressive hostess wher e you would expect a deferential maitre d'. Salad of pears, walnut, Roquefort and greens was oddly unsatisfying ...dull and uninteresting so we expected the worst. Main courses came and were absolutely exquisite filet mignon with mushrooms and peppercorns and a gorgeous restuffed lobster and elegant salmon were both pronounced best ever by their diners. Then unbelievably superb Grand Marnier souffles which are a must have. Only two very minor complaints the hack dining room I slightly cramped, and a waiter or busboy (not ours) kicked the back of my chair five times and never once apologized. But its such a wonderful place!
when you look at a food guide for newport, ri, they will always see a restaurant near the top. the restaurant is bouchard, on the lower thames street. this stalwart of the French cuisine is in the rule crowded, requires reservations, and gets many 5 star reviews. we have recently been with friends during the newport restaurant week, where the local restaurants offer prix fixe menus at a reduced price to attract people and see what they are all. in general we avoid restaurant week as we had some bad experiences. the menus are limited and many restaurants undoubtedly cut corners to avoid losing their hotties to the offered trips. but that was bouchard, and honestly...read more
Ausgezeichnete Wahl für feines Essen. Ruhige Atmosphäre mit großartigem Service. Essen war aus dieser Welt. Ich hatte die Ente und es war das Beste, was ich je genossen habe. Die Server waren sehr hilfsbereit und ihr Wissen über das Essen war unglaublich. Ich würde ihnen eine perfekte Punktzahl geben, aber wir mussten jedes Mal um Getränke fragen, das könnte mit dem Design sein. Dies ist die perfekte Wahl für eine Date-Nacht oder ein wahres Foodie.

The servers were very helpful and their knowledge of the food was incredible. I would give them a perfect score but we had to ask for drinks everytime, that could be by design. This is the perfect choice for a date night or a true foodie.
