The management has changed but thankfully the new guard continue to uphold the elegant traditions of a veritable institution amongst the favourite haunts of locals and discerning visitors. The delightful setting under the shade of plane trees and overlooking the plain and hills beyond was a memorable treat of delicious food beautifuly served: the escargots served in little pots of beurre persille or beurre tomate topped with a little circle of toast were phenomenally good. Another starter of mushrooms, jambon, noix and spinach in a warm herby vinaigrette and a delicate feuillete of gorgonzola wasa inspired. Five of us ate here on the final night of our holiday. My husband declared it the best meal he had eaten in months. Gorgeous romantic setting. Drinks outside by the fountain while we chose from the clever limited menu with a few daily specials. Escargots, sardines, smoked cod, delicious duck, house wine plus an imaginative local selection at reasonable prices. I am sure it must be heaving with people in the peak months but in late September it was pleasantly full. The service was excellent, polite informative and just friendly enough to make us feel welcome without being overpowering. Seillans is a wonderful village and the Restaurant Deux Rocs, near the top, is simply fabulous just what you imagine a perfect French restaurant should be! Nothing could be faulted and the service was attentive and friendly. We shared an excellent Foie gras entree, followed by perfectly rare salmon with vegetables for me and porc spare rib for my husband he was delighted with it! The finale was Illes flottante and chocolate for him. It was the best meal we had in 10 days in Provence, including a few M rated ones I preferred it's elegant simplicity and generosity!
The restaurant serves wonderful french food and has lovely staff. We stayed for a week and visited the restaurant 3 times in the evening. So tasted a fair amount of the menu. It was all of a great standard. The hotel itself is very quirky, in a good way, and is very old. I saw one date of 1601 but it could be older than that. The staff's English is very good. We did not eat by the fountain outside as it was not summer but you could see that this would be special on a summers evening. Definitely going back there next year. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
The food here is simply amazing and is just a must do dining in Summer in Seillans.The Pork was our choice and was tender and delicious and the sauce was a meal on its own.The setting around the town fountain and the Hotel Des Duex Rocs looking up into the Alps in Summer is stunning and a perfect partner to the delicious food. The service was superb and our waitress was just gorgeous !This is as good as it gets for French provincial dining and if you are in this part of France you must have dinner here!
We stayed in the hotel and enjoyed a lovely evening in the restaurant; nice atmosphere, delicious food and friendly service, not much more one could have asked for! I ordered magret de canard for main course and it was truly exceptional. A tips would be to book your table in advance as the restaurant got full and they had to turn people away (this was a Saturday in October).
We were two couples having late dinner in this lovey restaurant. The terasse is beautiful, staff helpful and fast and the food.... gorgious; absolutely the best in this town. ( the prises are also quite low) we all recommend this Deux Rocs !
Just loved this place, very friendly and beautiful setting in the valley surrounded by lovely views, Room was nice and comfortable and very relaxing, not like usual "modern" hotels , its more old world style Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Very good lunch, nice location under the trees with a great view. Quality of food is very good. Sufficient choice of the French Provence kitchen. Service is good and friendly. Enclosed pictures say enough
