Wir sind eigentlich nur kurz reingegangen, während wir den Berg hinunter wanderten, nur um die Toilette zu benutzen. Es roch so wunderbar im Eingangsbereich, dass ich nach draußen gegangen bin, um meine Frau hereinzuholen. Wir beschlossen, zu sehen, wie das Restaurant war, vielleicht etwas zu snacken - dieser Ort war in unserer bisherigen Recherche über Rigi-Restaurants nicht aufgetaucht. Wir wurden direkt am Fenster platziert, mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht. Und dann wurden wir mit einem der unglaublichsten Mahlzeiten behandelt, die wir jemals hatten. the aim of our class meeting was the rigi. unfortunately the farview was not too good, yet we enjoyed the common time. for lunch we decided for the restaurant in the hotel edelweiss. Clearly, as we were over 20 people, we have already agreed some weeks before on two menus proposed by the chef. the apéro on the beautiful terrace was perfectly organized, but petrus left us a bit in the engraving. the weeping were crippled. the philosophy is clear: only Swiss products! this is challenging, the kitchen sometimes has to find creative solutions. but that is what she does: we have enjoyed a tasting menu that is strongly based on criminal and mushrooms, all very pleasant, all very beautifully dressed and tastefully always surprising and interesting. I cannot forgive the highest score because the ambiente can clearly not withstand the quality of the feed, which harms the overall experience. white tablecloths must be simple with this quality (instead a dark brown coat was lying on the table, little appetizing. but that should be easy to fix.
rather unhope we have landed for dinner in a noble white. eating was good but not excellent. especially the service did not correspond to what we would have expected in this yet upscale price class. repeatedly, the service power for choice, for a tee or for announcing but still missing items could not give us any information. Wir waren im Hotel und haben 2 Abendessen gehabt. Die Auswahl an Gerichten war sehr begrenzt, insbesondere da sie uns nur eine der beiden Speisekarten am ersten Abend präsentiert haben. Das Essen war gut, die Portionen sehr klein und die Preise sehr hoch. Für mich hat es sich nicht gelohnt, den Preis im Hinblick auf das Gesamtpaket mit Ambiente, Service und Präsentation zu berücksichtigen. In dieser Preisklasse würde ich mehr Gastfreundschaft erwarten.

We visited the restaurant on a cold evening and was warmly welcomed by our host. The restaurant was cosy, homely and typical swiss. The service was good and the waiter very helpful in translating and explaining the menu. The veal and rosti was excellent. The salad portions are small but good. Lastly, this is Switzerland, so nothing is cheap!

Ein Besuch lohnt sich. Tolle lokale und hausgemachte Produkte. Schöne Terrasse. Dennoch kann man den Eindruck nicht loswerden, dass das Restaurant seine besten Zeiten hinter sich hat.
