The food is very nicely and imaginatively prepared. Our visit to the restaurant--during our stay at the Chèvre d'Or--was marred by a large, noisy rehearsal dinner at the table immediately next to us. We couldn't hear each other talk. We asked to be moved to another, free table--with precisely the same view and ambiance but slightly removed from the merrymakers. Our request was politely but firmly declined with the explanation that the other table "has been specifically chosen by another guest". The table remained empty throughout the evening. In spite of a mix up over our reservation, the staff managed to make our dinner a very pleasant one. We didn't get a table overlooking the sea but still had a wonderful view. Service was overall very good, with one small exception, only one wine list, so we had to wait for another table to order before being able to order wine, strange. As a result our starters arrived when we were still drinking our aperitif which was a bit of a shame. The maitre D spotted that perhaps things hadn't been as expected when we arrived and quickly came over withe a glass of champagne on the house to apologise. We had an excellent dinner here. We had extremely fresh tomato salad as starter. As a main dish we both choce beef fillet and it was simply perfect. Recommendation of wine was also very good. Chocolate and strawberry desserts were the crown of stunning dinner. Service was very friendly but a little fumble. One child started to play piano and it took much too long to quit playing.
