Restaurant Fort du Saint Eynard

my family and I went to lunch in the restaurant du fort du Saint-Eynard beginning august sunny day, nice weather. I had been there a few times in the past (my parents don't live very far from Saint-Eynard). the restaurant is located on the top of the Saint-Eynard in an ancient military fortification from the century, which offers a magnificent view of grenoble and its surrounding valleys. the restaurant is decorated with many old French products that give the place a beautiful and quiet atmosphere. we all took the menu. the charcuterie was nothing very special (average quality,) even not the patte. the hot saucisson was good, but served in too small amount. the wing, as usual, was crispy and...

panoramic view of the grenoble area exceptional with clear weather. simple cozy French terrace. friendly staff serves basic meals (pancakes, omelets, salates etc). the bad surprise comes with the bill: almost euro for beer, a group omelett with salat and brot far away. enough for people and little desserts. a theft! No wonder that so many visitors appear up there.

a breathtaking view of grenoble and surrounding mountains, including mt blanc top of the alps in kms eating is simple, but very good, I recommend the typical gratin dauphinois. on Sunday they can visit the fortification.

Quite expensive, but the Chartreuse ice cream and Génépi milkshake were unforgettable, and an unexpectedly delightful start to our hike across the Chartreuse national park!
