On Thursdays, La Carcasse has rib and filet mignon specials for only $26 and $30, respectively so we decided on a whim to try because it happened to be Thursday. We reserved a table for 7:30pm because that was their second service. The restaurant has a large patio with heat lamps up front but we opted for indoor seating as it was a little cool outside. We ordered pretty much right away and got the tartar within a reasonable amount of time. But the mains didn't arrive till about 8:40pm. Our server claimed that he didn't know we were in a rush which is a poor excuse for slow service or perhaps he'd forgotten to put in our order. Nice restaurant in the town of St. Constant. We were a couple wanting to try some tartar supper meals. The restaurant itself is a house converted to a restaurant. The ate upstairs in a small open area with around 20 other spaces. The tables are very tight leaving little room for accesses in and out. The menu was very nice and ample choices from steaks, fish and tartar. Our choice was made before going to take advantage of a special price on these meals. We tried the trio which consisted of beef, salmon and tuna with an abundance of French fries. We did order an entrée of calamares. All was very good and quantities were more than adequate. my girlfriend talked about this place nonstop, and I did try the cheesecake when she took it back home. Finally tried it in person today, reserved it for 8:30pm and was very quickly seated. We choose the lovely terrasse. The waitress was very kind, presented the daily specials and took our orders. I took the duck tartelette as an entré and the ribs for main.The duck was exquisite, the perfect amount of sweet and saltiness on the little tart. It was 17$ but worth it. The ribs on the other hand was nothing special, for 31$ you have fries, decent amount of very tender ribs and a salad. Quaint and stylish , exquisite first rate service with smiles , this lil gem has the right ambiance for business , friendship or dating I was really impressed ... BUT ... call ahead or reserve it's very popular! Food on lunch menue is quite good , I had melon salad with bavette ,,,, just wonderfull !!! I'm not a big lunch guy but this was great !!! My wife had salade with chicken she enjoyed very much ... On the terrace it was a wonderful Friday luncheon with my wife . Lunch menue items range in the 15$ per plate ... I recommend highly ... oh and BRING YOUR OWN WINE !!!! That's a bonus !!!! I will be back , just charmed ...
The restaurant is in an old house that has been modified only slightly to create a warm atmosphere. The service is excellent. Knowledgeable, efficient staff that serves in a very friendly manner. Excellent menu choices for all food tastes. The steak eaters enjoyed their meals immensely. My shrimp risotto was seasoned perfectly. The calamari was crisp and freshly prepared. We have already thanked our son and his wife for introducing us to the spot. It was wonderful and we will return with friends.
my wife and I tried this restaurant last sunday. we enjoyed their filet mignon for their main course, as you can see the title above, it was a very good meal experience. i heartily recommend you give this place a try. note- sundays they are offering a 25% discount along with the fact is byob it is a hit in our book and we will definitly try it again in the future. sevice was excellent and timely.
So rare that I go to a high end restaurant and say, that was excellent . It always seem like there was something missing. At La Carcasse, everything was there, service, attention to detail, quality of the food, we had a great time and we will go back.
A beautiful house, turned restaurant with a wonderful cozy atmosphere. Small spaces make it more intimate, and good for couples, or a small group. Great food and good, friendly service. 5 Star foods!
Small restaurant and cosy. Excellent dining experience but parking restraint. Reservations a must. Recommend first service, second is very noisy, depend on the preferred ambiance.
