we were so enchanted by this place. we had difficulty getting during our stay in lyon and burgundy reservations. on our last day, which is the most holy day and thus a day where almost everything is closed, I tried in broken...French from nuits sain georges to beaune to find a place for our last lunch. I almost cried when the owner of the la goutte d' or not only the phone, but spoke English and could accommodate us. that and some decent food would have been something. but when we arrived at the restaurant, her service level was impeccable. the wine list is extensive, with a lot of weeping from all over France. their knowledge of the wine properties and their level of wine service were remar...
great concept while limiting, beautiful wine list and amazing host. during the confinement la goutte D’OR offered dishes to take away: pizza and Japanese eating to fair trips. I was surprised and impressed by the wine list. the sommelier is the enchanting Japanese woman who is not...only very well familiar with local weeps, winzers and crus, but also with international weeps. I wish I could talk to her for hours. eating is fresh, seasonal, French-Asian, traditional, light and hearty. I went there during the border for the pull-out dishes, but also friends when they had just opened the terrace. beautiful atmosphere, very good wine glasses and delicious meals!
We ate twice at La Goutte D’or during our stay in Meursault, sitting in their wonderful courtyard. We emailed in advance to see if a vegetarian menu could be offered. The restaurant was only too happy to create a bespoke menu, putting together a different...set of inventive and creative dishes for each of our meals. As a group, we sampled most of the restaurant’s dishes. Their classic dishes of rib of beef with Bearnaise sauce are every bit as good as their Japanese influenced cuisine. We ate and drank nothing that wasn’t fantastic.
We walked from the center of Meursault down a small hill to the restaurant where we dined in a courtyard. The food was quite good except for the steak which was uninspired. The Pommard wine was very good. There was one element that was spell-breaking....The chef, who seemed quite nice, helped by bringing the various courses to the tables in the courtyard. His apron, unfortunately, was dirty and stained which really detracted from the ambiance. Hopefully, it was a one-night aberration. Restaurant guests deserve better. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We stopped in between visits to wineries, arriving just prior to their posted closing time. The hostess was very accommodating and charming! She didn’t rush us at all, and we enjoyed a wonderful meal in the courtyard, just under the vines. My friend took the...fixed menu a tomato salad with burrata, followed by roast chicken and veggies. I also had the burrata and tomatoes, followed by delicious scallops and beets (from the a la carte menu). So fantastic! For dessert, the tiramisu and chocolate mousse blanc. Superb!
Ate here on our first evening in Meursault. The walk from the centre is lovely and adds to the pleasure of going. We both chose the set menu and it didn't disappoint at all. A really fresh and light feel to all courses. Information...about the wines was welcome and delivered in an informative and friendly way. We were very happy with both choices. The outdoor area adds to the relaxing and enjoyable evening.
Due to a mix up with the timing of our reservation we were over an hour late and despite this the team could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The food itself was simple, french and delicious. The fillet steak was a particular...highlight with the most fantastic cut of meat. Highly recommended!
what an amazing surprise. the restaurant is managed by a beautiful couple (Japanese and French) eating is French with a hauch of Japanese. so good and so fresh. we have come to lunch twice and plan to come back. excellent food and service....Locals also come here to eat. no tourist trap. excellent. We had dinner here last year and again this year. Excellent food with clear Japanese influence, very well done! Relaxed atmosphere, very good wine list, love the hostess.
