Situated within L'Espinet Holiday village just 3 minutes from Carrefour Supermarket, the location is Idyllic. The reception area is light and airy with the staff being exceptionally helpful. The restaurant is adjacent to the swimming pool located in a wooden structure that has seen better days and is badly in need of total refurbishment. If you can see past this first impression and grab a table by the poolside, so much the better, as the interior of the restaurant could be off putting, especially on a sunny day. This was our first visit to Le Brantalou. We knew to expect a busy holiday environment, even allowing for COVID restrictions, but were not as prepared as we thought for the experience that ensued! We were staying in the holiday village so we used the restaurant a few times. It was October so off-season and not open all the time, which wasn’t clear on the complex’s website. Our first visit was for breakfast but we didn't realise that the restaurant staff were unaware of our presence on the complex, having arrived late the evening before, but they went out of their way to lay on an excellent spread beyond expectations and also catered for my dietary needs without fuss.We also had two evening meals in the restaurant during our stay and the ambiance was relaxed and very pleasant. Took friends here after I had recommended how good it was previously - what's happened !!! Your A La carte Menu has been scaled down to basic cooking.The a la carte menu is relatively expensive but didn't mind paying extra for quality and something more tradional to " Paris food ".Not a great choice on the Menu ¬Steak was expensive but thought this would be a safe bet ! How wrong I was - that cut of meat was " CHEAP & RUBBISH " , grizzle was really chewy, and kind of gross , it's not what I wanted to eat ! Have eaten here many times, lunch and dinner and also large gatherings, locally we call the site that the restaurant is situated on the Belgium village. In the holiday months it can get very busy, the ouside eating area is next to the pool. We...had trouble several years ago when we asked for one vegetarian meal, the kitchen staff pushed the duck of the plate, left the vegtab!es and served the plate, you could see the marks where the meat had been. The menu of the day is excellent and very good value for money, would recommend and make sure u book in the busy months.

We stayed at L'espinet for a few days in July and ate here for convenience. The a la carte menu is relatively expensive and the buffet menu is fairly inexpensive at 20 euros a head including house wine. The food is plentiful and nights are "themed"e.g Spanish, French. Exotic etc. The house white and rose wines are drinkable, the red is vile and revolting. I don't understand why people rave about the place. We were in it a number of times purely because we were residents, and it just isn't up to anything like the standards throughout Quillan.

We attended the degustation of seafood and were quite disappointed with the food. The prawns were severely over cooked and unpleasant very flowery , one fish course was paired with a creamed rice side which did not go very well with the fish. i...had to ask for towelettes for my hands. This is the fourth or fifth poor meal that we had experienced on this Holiday in Quillan. I would just sum it up as not very special despite the rather high prices. We ordered salmon and lamb. Both were finely presented, tasty and good value. Staff were very friendly. Only downside was the restaurant was very quiet so there was not much atmosphere.
