Very odd place and with a lady who seems to run the place and without a great customer manner.Service was not great not helped by the fact that the really nice waitress had to run everything by the lady manager and who was constantly telling the waitress what to do. Big menu choice which I always have suspicions of.The pizza I had was not great. Doubt the base was home made and the ingredients instead of being done in a pizza oven were obviously fried and then placed on top of the base and then the cheese was put on top and either placed in the oven or grill. Sorely our favorite and captrated Barbezieux restaurant. A large parking lot in front of the castle makes it easy to park its vehicle. A warm welcome, a generous and gourmet cuisine. A real pleasure. At each visit we come with the idea to taste the pancakes, but the dishes of the menu systematically divert us from our original idea. Because the dishes are more appetizing than the others. The only option is to come back to get the chance to taste all. Cargo pizza is also available. Don't hesitate, if you want to spend a good time the address is found.
Le Chateau is an excellent restaurant in Barbezieux. The menu is extensive and has something for everybody from pizzas and pasta to more traditional French fayre. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and recognise you even if you only visit occasionally. Unfortunately, it is not open on Mondays which is disappointing as so few establishments are open in the area on the traditional French revolutionary day of rest. I really recommend it; always a dependable choice.

We went twice to this restaurant when on holiday. The food was excellent. The quality outstanding and the portions huge. This combined with Excellent service and hood value, made it a great family evening out
