It's obviously a Michelin star restaurant so it has to be good. I'm just rating it lower by comparison with its pairs, and with expectations. Granted that there's a price premium for Bordeaux, but the menu was less excellent and innovative (to us) than similar places elsewhere, and much more expensive. Similarly the wine pairing disappointed us, and we paid 125$ for 5 glasses which were 1/10th of bottle each, and those bottles ranged from 65 to 125€ in their menu. The math is not there. The money grabbing when imposing an aperitif and a cocktail was a bit too obvious too. Sadly, my less rounded experience for the type of (excellent) restaurant
This was the best meal of my life! And also, it felt like having dinner at my friends'. The service was excellent and super friendly. The sommelier's pairings were top notch. We got nice little surprises including an amazing tuna belly and a beef cannelloni! They even gifted us a Basque cake for our anniversary. And all of that with rock background music, so much fun! The outside view is breathtaking especially at sunset. The decoration is wonderful! And I got to meet the chef, he is a sweetheart! Don't miss this gem!!! I am sure they will get a second star soon. And thank you for making our 15th anniversary so special!
The location next to a motorway is not the most attractive, the rough grass and picnic benches do not help the external ambiance either. But from there on, the awesome Spanish bbq, the mixture of art, old and new furniture, including a football table and varied ambient lighting star at to define the signature of this clever and challenging chef. Great quality ingredients, imaginatively cook and wonderfully served by attentive, professional and amusing staff come together for a super night out with great food and wine and fun. Not a standard Michelin place, but an inspired menu and a super night out.
l'ambiance est sympathique , l'équipe est jeune , attentive souriante .le repas du déjeuner , certes à 35 euro e+p+d est moyen exemple l'entrée savoureuse sardines farcies comme à nice trés bien ça décline apres cabillaud cuison banale avec une émulsion agréable mais un accompagnement un peu juste 3 boules de riz grillé c'est bon mais en plein mois de juillet on aurait pu avoir moins de riz et des légumes ;;le dessert insuffisant une peche pochée et un gateau ; à bordeaux pour un prix inférieur on peut avoir des plats plus élaborés . bref , ce n'est pas mal mais un rapport qualite prix insuffisant

We went to le prince noir and as soon we walked in the atmosphere grabs us. We started with cocktails and canapés at the bar. We had the renouveau menu, but we didn 't expect to have so much food, and we are good forks! It was quite new for us to not see the menu, so we didn 't know what to expect, but definitely the chef knows what he is doing! They gives us few surprise dishes, as well !!! In the end of the evening we enjoy, laugh and we was full, actually we couldn 't move
Une salle moderne au sein d'un très joli site, ça commence bien.Un accueil très souriant et décontracté, ça continue sur une bonne note.Des plats très bien présentés, avec des produits d'une grande qualité, cuissons et assaisonnements parfaits, bons accompagnements, et belle promenade un peu partout en France pour les vins assortis aux mets, voilà la recette d'une soirée très réussie...Merci au chef et à toute son équipe ;-)
Je coche rarement l'avis maximum...Mais là impossible de faire autrement! C'était délicieux, raffiné et simple à la fois. Du vrai sans fioritures mais classe...comme le service: pas envahissant, chic et sport (serveurs et serveuses en basket), une pointe d'humour et de la distance...l'ensemble est fin, intelligent...bref j'ai été séduite car j'ai trouvé des valeurs qui me parlent. MERCI
