The restaurant is in a perfectly lovely location and the food was good, if not exceptional. It was somewhat overpriced, but we were reasonably content until we came to pay the bill. The restaurant's credit card machine couldn't process any of our 3 credit cards. The proprietor refused to believe that the problem was with his credit card machine and said the problem was with our cards. The bill came to Euros 152 and I only had Euros 135 on me in cash. I offered to make up the difference with £20 sterling. He refused to take any sterling and insisted on writing down all the details from one of our cards. During our walk through Duingt 2 weeks ago just prior to mid-day we stopped in here for some refreshing drinks and a snack if possible. The place was completely empty apart from another couple having drinks. We would have liked to have sat under the...shade as it was a really hot day but was advised if we just wanted drinks we would have to sit on the terrace in the full sun. I can understand the patio area being kept for diners only, fair enough, however the waitress was sour, unwelcoming with no people skills. We felt like walking out then. We stayed at this restaurant on a sunny Thursday afternoon during our bike tour on the lake. It was a bit before 2:00, but we were kindly welcomed, and a table at the water was prepared for us. We are not sure, but we have the impression that the restaurant/hotel was run by a father, mother and daughter. All three are equally friendly and attentive. As an appetizer I had twelve escargots in Persillade, and my partner enjoyed homemade duck foie grass cooked in nature and its red wine gels. The Sea Bass Filet and its Nantes butter were buttery soft and great on taste. In short, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch in a beautiful place at the lake.
We were on a tour through the lake when we got hungry and started looking for a place to dinner. A nice “yes, we accept dogs” was our welcome and we were able to save the last table. A magnificent view of the lake from... the front part of the terrace. Fine. The friendly staff soon served us and we enjoyed a Niçoise salad for me and Escargots followed by a frying of small local fish for my companion. The dogs have their bowl of water. except for the terrasse, not much to praise here . Especially not the waitress who had a very unpleasant attitude , to the extent I had to intervene for her to stop treating us like a nuisance. The fish is tasteless but pricey. I believe it's the same tourist menu which is served for ever. (dishes pictures from 2015 look exactly like what we got) The only nice comment I could leave is about the desserts. period.
Had a surprise birthday lunch for my Dad here alongside the lake in a beautiful location. The waiter was rushed at first and we had to wait for service, but as the restaurant emptied things returned to agreeable service. The food was excellent and the steak well cooked. The fera was delicious and a first try of the local speciality from Lac d'Annecy. A memorable lunch and an unhurried one!
The entire team of waiters seemed inappropriate to wear their masks. One guy wore it on his chin, all the others just on her mouth. The view was beautiful, however, and the fish, although overpriced and prepared without creativity, was fresy enough. The tomato mozzarella...table was really above average.
We had an excellent meal, excellent service, but every time we go we are surprised at how high the bill has come to.That said, the lakeside view and setting is incredibly peaceful and the food is very good. It was a hot day and we needed to take some fluids on board. This place was fine as we took drinks on their terrace beside the lake. But could not extrapolate to a view on food
