I was unfortunate to have had no train from Lucerne to merlischachen due to bad weather. I took a bus to Meggen but then I needed either to walk or take a taxi. I stopped at this restaurant frazzled and in need. I was keen...to have something to eat, toilet, and then find my way to where my hotel was. The waitress was so asinine that I ended up leaving without food as she refused to help me with a taxi and kept telling me there was a bus stop near. Disgraceful.
We went there on a Sunday night, though no reservations, friendly staff still organized a table for us ( we felt immediately welcome ). The restaurant is cozy, it has quite a few choices on the menu card. I ordered crispy chicken and I loved it ! All of my friends liked their food as well, so everyone is happy. Besides, the prices are also reasonable, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that had a chance to visit.
We wanted a no nonsense place to eat with our children (7-9) who are picky eaters. This place was open and the waitress we had was extremely nice. The food was good (although I wonder who can actually eat that XL schnitzel they advertise!) but what we especially liked was the little touches like the "amuse" that was brought out for free (yes...in Switzerland!)Good eat for very reasonable prices.
While we were for one night at Lucerne, both me and my wife spent some time looking and driving around trying to find a local (for locals) place for dinner. This is a great alternative, with great local swiss style food, comfortable place and mid-range prices, friendly staff and even friendly local people gather there anytime to eat and relax. Das Restaurant verfügt über eine schöne Terrasse mit toller Aussicht auf den See und die Berge. Tolle lokale Gerichte und Fleischspezialitäten. Die Portionen sind groß und das Essen sehr lecker, begleitet von freundlichem Service.
Sonnegg was wonderful. We sat out on their balcony and looked at Lake Luzern and the Alps. The veal sausage and rosti and a dish with a rosti covered in cheese sauce and an egg was to die for. Definitely recommend!
Friendly welcome. The restaurant is modern but cozy. We ordered the Kalbsbratwurst and Fish. Both dishes were excellent. Prices are more than acceptable for Swiss standards. Absolutely recommended Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Wir sind von Luzern am See entlang nach Meggen gelaufen und haben dort einen Zwischenstopp für ein schönes Sonntagsmittagessen eingelegt. Das Essen war ein Star! Lecker.
