What a stroke of luck off the main street I found one of the best restaurants on my travels so far. Beautiful traditional Portugese venue tastily decorated with local artifacts local dress and beautiful display of crockware locally made. The food is to die for. The first night I ordered the three pepper steak. This dish consisted of veal cooked to perfection with chips. Dont be fooled the chips were potatoes sliced and sauted, delicious. Prior to the main local olives and cod cakes, excellent. Along with local red wine and coffee a veritable feast. A swiss roll type slice with drizzle free gratis to finish. My mom, sister and I happened to find this hidden gem as we were walking towards the old centre and we were very happy we did! From the food to the service everything was impeccable. I had the most delicious grilled octopus of our entire 25-day tour of Portugal. The selection of bolinho de bacalhau and risoles were also very yummy. I asked for a glass of the house red and received this lovely big jug of very nice red wine. They have on display the most amazing selection of vintage wines (not for sale tho). Estiven dúas ocasións ca miña parella comendo en Adega do Padriño. O trato foi excelente, como toda a xente portuguesa coa que me atopei. A comida exquisita e caseira, transpórtate á casa dunha nai portuguesa, o bacallao moi rico e abundante. A relación calidade prezo é excelente. A decoracióm è preciosa e pintoresca e podemos desfrutar dos azulexos típicos portugueses de cores branca e azul decorados con debuxos. Sinceramente, non comparto as opinións negativas de tripadvisor, xa que teño ganas de voltar a comer en Adega do Padriño e vouno facer. Non tardarei en volver. 5 estrelas ben merecidas.

Why have people marked this restaurant down? If you are looking for pretentious, Michelin cuisine, then go elsewhere. If you want to eat in a charming, friendly restaurant, with home cooked, superb local cuisine..and a small price tag..then this is your place. We were gobsmacked at the beautiful, rustic dishes. We are here for 3 nights and will eat here every time. Cant express how much we loved it....
We ordered the shellfish rice for two. Some so so fried snacks and a house salad to start were not so memorable, but the tasty and huge rice dish was packed with mussels, clams, large and small prawns, and crab! We could not finish it! We declined desert but the landlady insisted on giving us a slice of local torta do Viana and a glass of white port. The house wine was also very drinkable.
Terrible tourist trap! Unfortunately we didn’t see the other reviews on TA before ordering our dinner. The salad was full of salt, the periniscos were gummy and the octopus was floating in a plate of oil. All in all we had disgusting food served with a sarcastic attitude by the French-speaking owner. To avoid at all costs.
We enjoyed a nice dinner at a family friendly restaurant. We were able to sit outside which is important to me in this pandemic, we had the Três pimentas and a roast lamb dish plus house wine an appetizer and a pitcher of house wine at a reasonable price. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Came here in the day for lunch with my family, had a lovely atmosphere with tasty food and great service. The 6 of us were very pleased with our visit! We had the Duck rice, Sea bass, Salmon and various starters- definitely recommend all these dishes
