This was our go to place in Tavira, just five minutes away from our flat. No one rushes over to greet you or usher you to a table: you are left to decide whether you want to sit outside on the l-shaped balcony or inside. The inside section was filled with a large party of locals, so we headed for the last available table. We avoided choice by opting for the set menu, which was fine but probably the least successful of the four or five meals we had there, since the main course was fried mixed fish, which always seems to sound better than it turns out. This restaurant has had many good Tripadvisor reviews. I am sorry to say that our visit (late Sept 2020) didn 't bear out its reputation. There 's nothing wrong with it being an unpretentious dining room (some of our best meals have been in back-street restaurants), and of course, experiences and recommendations with dining are highly subjective, but for us, on that occasion, the whole thing just didn 't gel. Miss had black pork , which should be pork fillet, it was mainly gristle and really uneatable. My pork and clams was good, but not to rave over. From the one visit, I 'd say there are other, better, places to eat in Tavira.
the only reason is that this is not a five star rating that they have no specific gluten-free properties. bring a restaurant card and they will like to go through the menu and tell them what they can and can. the grilled fish several species) was excellent. the salads were fresh and uncomplicated. eating was authentic Portuguese.

Lovely restaurant, visited four years ago and wanted to take friends to try black pork, food is still fantastic. Friendly service and great value local food.
