We had dinner and orders as a starter fish soup and salad which were both very tasty. I ordered Besugo and got 3 little grilled fishes. Were good but not really what I expected. The other 2 family members had white rice with fish who was good, had lots of seafood and the portion was too much. Lots of rice though. The service was friendly and tried to explain in Portuguese what we could expect which was not always very clear to us. All in all a good restaurant which is recommendable.
The owner is a fanatic about the freshness and quality of the fish he serves. One of our favourite fish, scabbordfish, was not on the menu because the fish at the market that day did not meet his standard. The grouper I ate was one of the tastiest grilled fish I have ever had. Grouper does not taste like this back home in Canada. We also tried the grilled egg sacs, interesting, not sure if I would order them again but glad I tried them.
I visited this place because I saw on Google it was one of the best restaurants in Setubal, and I just wanted to have a nice family meal and all I receive was waiters constantly yelling at eachother's, terrible service (including the waiter told us if he knew what we were going to order he didn't let us eat). The food was poor, I couldn't finish my meal cause I was getting sick. I won't come back for sure, I don't recommend it.
This is a wonderful authentic restaurant with friendly knowledgeable staff. If your not a fan of fish this restaurant will definitely change your mind! It is located in the heart of Setúbal just a stones throw away from the ocean in a historic finishing town. It offers the freshly caught fish daily that are beyond compare. This is not a cheap restaurant but it is worth every penny. The restaurant is famous for its typical side dish made from bread and vegetables. The fish is exceptional, grilled perfectly. The red fruits mousse is simply the best I ever tasted with very few sugar. The owner is a character of his own.
We ate here at Sexta Feira Santa. Long queue and hectic scenery but turned out worth the wait. We ate salmonetes with liver sauce and stuffed octopus and loved every bite. Great waitresses, owner a bit stressed person.
Bela relação preço qualidade. Comemos uns excelentes chocos grelhados acompanhados por umas migas e por um branco da casa (agradável por sinal) por menos de 30€ um casal. Super recomendado!
Excellent in every token, stops, starters, fish, meat, desserts. It well placed in Setúbal, it has a public parking the other side of the road, and all things are excellent Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
If you like fresh grilled fish, this restaurant is a must in Setubal. The hard thing is to choose which one. I'll be back for sure.
