This place is terribly managed, overpriced, portions make no sense, they consider a single sausage patty an entree, they consider buttered noodles with no protein an entree, entire plate full of rice and corn then give you a chicken breast smaller than the size of a baby’s fist. When you ask for another one or maybe just a side of something else with more than 5grams of protein, you’re told to come back up. The problem with coming back up is, the line is out the door, you’ve already spent 30 min of your lunch waiting in line and there is one person serving food and one cashier for 500+ airmen who need to eat from 11-1pm. One time I went at 6:30pm for dinner and they literally had no entrees...
Despite my relatively low expectations of the military dining institution, the gastronomic experience of the Rhineland DFAC was the epitome of what we may call a life-changing event. I selected what appeared to be an ancient delicacy of cavemen consisting of chocolate flavored pebble shaped morsels of delight that would gain approval from Gene Wilder. Then onto the coffee selection, I noticed a machine so efficiently built, only the finest German engineering could have constructed such a product. French vanilla or mocha at the touch of a button? Incredible. Although the coffee it dispensed was underwhelming to say the least, the boiled eggs exceeded the highest of any culinary expectations....
The smell of sewer first greets you at the entrance. Portions always get smaller and the staff gets a bunch of different information from higher ups. While the staff is friendly most of the time I can tell the job is hard on them with weird hours and hard work. Their is no dietary information on any of the food so if you are dieting or body building you are better off doing your own food. There was a rumor that renovations were going to happen that never did not that the dfac needs them maybe the kitchen but the dining areas are really nice. So that's a plus. Tldr it's a dfac not the best not the worst the staff needs a break sometimes though.
Mixed interactions with staff. Some are very friendly while others clearly don't care to be there. Food isn't very good and you need to learn how each person cooks certain grill items as they all do it differently. Entrance often smelled like rotten eggs. Makes me miss the DFAC at Keesler. Happy to be on BAS now. This place is in need of an overhaul.

In den letzten fast zwei Monaten, in denen ich hier war, hat es sich merklich verbessert. Es schmeckt gut, sieht ansprechend aus und scheint ziemlich gesund zu sein... Natürlich gibt es Tage und Zeiten, an denen es definitiv besser sein könnte, aber ich bin insgesamt ziemlich zufrieden.
Das Essen ist lecker und reichhaltig. Es gibt drei Hauptmahlzeiten am Tag und am Wochenende ein Brunch. Die Everything Omelettes sind einfach großartig!
Beitrag zu der Depression der Ramstein-Dorm-Airmen. Es ist in Ordnung. Essbar. Manchmal annehmbar. Aber meistens einfach nur essbar.
