We had an early dinner at 5:30 on a Monday. The restaurant is very small and family-run, and parking is limited to a one-way alley in the back. I found the Tom Kah Gai soup ($5.00) to be disappointing—there was no noticeable coconut milk, and it had an overwhelming amount of lime juice. However, the red curry duck ($18.00) was quite good. The fried duck was served on a separate plate from the sauce, which I found unusual; I’ve had this dish at several Thai restaurants before, and it’s typically served in the sauce. Eating in this place is the predominant problem every time we go. Means that we already know in advance, we will have such a pleasant gastronomic experience. Except for a good time. The Kao Niao Moo death is the best in the world besides the fact that you do not find this dish in any other Thai restaurant. We've been here since they started and live in the opposite side of the city. Nevertheless, we do not think twice when it comes to satisfying our palate with fresh and excellent food, plus the fact that the place is owned by a family that gives 1000% to offer a complete and very impressive culinary experience
What a find! Hole in the wall, family owned Thai restaurant. The ambiance is nothing too fancy, and it doesn't need to be. They're focused on the freshness and flavor of the food, which is phenomenal. Good portions and value for prices. Service was friendly and welcoming (talked with Juliano, the father of the owner). They're a little short staffed, but who isn't these days? Our patience definitely paid off in the form of an enjoyable evening, and we'll be back!
You might need to wait a little bit for a table, as it's a cozy spot, but the menu is packed with delicious options. They offer curry soups, wings, pad Thai, duck, and other traditional Thai dishes. In addition, they have a selection of wine, beers like Sapporo, as well as some canned sodas and juices. I've visited twice and really enjoyed their spring rolls and pad Thai. Great food and even better service! I had the green Papaya salad and the Pad Woon Sen, pictured below. Both were very fresh and tasteful. I usually stay with Pad Thai, but my server recommended me to try something new. I'm glad he did this because I loved it!
The food was delicious! The service was amazing and the staff is very nice and thoughtful. This family-run and operated restaurant gives you the wonderful aromas and the tasty taste of authentic Thai cuisine.
10/10. I absolutely love the Thai chicken fried rice! The wait was a bit long, but it's definitely worth it, and there's enough for leftovers the next day!
