On a lovely back road drive on a misty day from Rouen to Honfleur, we came across the little village of Bourneville. After looking at two other dining possibilities, we chose the Risle-Seine just by stepping into their inviting entry and looking into the old beamed ceiling dining room with a cheery fire in the stone fireplace and tables covered with white linen filled with pleased-looking diners. It was a great choice.We shared a fabulous entrée of Camembert in a pastry purse with fresh greens dressed in a light vinaigrette. The plat course was a delicious veal with small onions in a velvety brown sauce. A very good Bordeaux accompanied these two courses and a wonderful peach melba finished...
This is a comfortable family restaurant that stands out. It has been here for years and we have visited many times. I have never had a bad experience and have often left with that feeling you get occasionally when you have had an exceptionally lovely meal. There are three set menus which change with the seasons ranging from about 18 to 30 Euros. They are all good; the difference in price merely reflects the difference in the cost of the main ingredients. The menus are derived from the a la carte menu, which is also available, and they are happy to let you switch one dish for another in your menu.There is a very good wine list, at sensible prices including a good list of half bottles and wine...
We had a very pleasant and memorable evening there. Nice and friendly staff and a nice atmosphere in the little village of Bourneville. I only give four points instead of five, because the main course didnt live up to my expectations, that the entré has promised. We loved the Poiré and the liqueur de calvados (trying to find it anywhere)!. Very reasonable prices!We can recommend the restaurant very much!
This restaurant was recommended by the owner of the Chambre d'hote we stayed in at nearby Trouville La Haule. Good choice of 3 menus at different prices, also a la carte. The 4 courses we chose were well presented and pichets of vin de la maison were reasonably priced. There was a pleasant ambience with many French customers.But the waitress knocked over

We had the 17 Eur Menu and it was really worth it. The wine was good (we had a demi-bouteille of Bordeaux for 7 Eur), all the courses were delicious (typical normandy food of good quantity and quality). Staff was nice, the fireplace gave a cosy atmosphere and the time we waited for the food was short. All in all a place I really recommend.
Dropped by on chance for lunch, quiet, intimate, a lovely menu, friendly, accommodating service and beautifully served and delicious food. Thoroughly recommended.
They have an amazing prix fixe (appetizer, entree, cheese course, dessert).it was the best meal we had in France on a recent 5-day trip.
Great food, excellent value for money, very friendly lady owner, think husband did the cooking. even our dog Alma was made welcome !!!
