Traveled with a group of friends and were excited to eat supper at Il Teatro. My husband and I had visited the restaurant before and had a great meal. We arrived at the restaurant and asked about availability of seating for five people. The hostess told us there would be a wait of 15 to 20 minutes and they would page us when a table became available. We stood outside the restaurant chatting, believing that a table would become available soon. Finally, after about 50 minutes, a group of 4 women exited the restaurant and directly beside their table for 4 was an empty table for two. I asked the waitress if they could put the two tables and she spoke to one of the waiters. We assumed we would so...
My wife and I visited this restaurant on our very first evening in Quebec City. The food was wonderful and the waiter was very pleasant and had a great personality. We liked it so much that we went back a few days later. We asked for a porch table overlooking the outside dining area and were told that the table for two was taken and the other table was for 4 people. 20 minutes later we saw two people, an older man with a very young lady, sitting at the table for 4. We should have tipped the hostess... maybe next time. But our second meal was again fantastic and the waitress was very sweet and worked hard to earn her 20%+. The desserts are great. I highly recommend this restaurant...
Had dinner here on the first evening of our stay in Quebec City.It looked very touristy at first glance but the food was excellent, not what we had expected.As you can imagine the pasta was superb and each of the four in our party thoroughly enjoyed what we had from the a la carte menu.The music however was not to our taste, in fact we wondered if it was more about the preferences of the staff rather than customers.On the subject of the staff, service was a little haphazard, but everyone was friendly if not always engaged with the diners. It would be good to return though as it was a great meal.
excellent dinner for two during our bike trip to quebec. location is in place d’youville right in front of the toren in the old town. casually elegant decor. High-end menu, high-end presentation. excellent performance. efficient service. well prepared cocktails. weine are expensive for what they are, but otherwise the prices are quite expensive for quality, ambiente and service. some loud room and tables could be further apart to ensure a real high-end experience. we will come back when we are back in quebec city.

Food is great, prices fit the meals, but it felt like they were serving their French regulars the whole time and really stuck their nose in the air when a family with a 2yo showed up. Service was awful, water cups not filled, no pepper or fresh cheese offered for the pasta dishes while all the guests around us got some. If you are in the area and maybe sit at the bar, food is good but don't remotely expect timeliness.
Food was excellent. We sat outside and it was beautiful until it rained and the tent proved to be less than covering. The food was excellent, but expensive. Also, the waiter charged us for a bottle when we only ordered a glass of wine. He corrected the error, but make sure you check your bill.
What a lovely time we had. Visiting from Ohio we visited Il Teatro twice. The veal chop with morels and lobster was very delicious and included flat noodles with a hint of truffle oil. Perfectly prepared food, seasoned to perfection. The Carbonara and Bolognese were just like we had in Italy.
The seafood linguini was fantastic - everyone in my family was stealing it :). My husband and daughter had the minestrone soup and both absolutely loved it. The balsalmic vinegar and olive oil with bread was even better than usual!

what a tasty bite! an Italian restaurant that offers a great service, fresh food, a large selection of menus, a wine card, a restaurant in old quebec. do I need more?
Beautiful courtyard for breakfast. Standard buffet but the courtyard was lovely. Did not stay at the Hotel so not sure what that was like.
