This place is really busy for both lunch and dinner yet I really struggled to find anything on the menu I wanted to eat.The first time I visited was for a quick bite for lunch but in the absence of a menu in English, it was difficult to translate many of the selections.In desperation I went for a simple spaghetti bolognese, which was fine but nothing startling. My husband chose a seafood pasta which was full of mussels and clams but nice seafood such as prawns, fish or calamari were few and far between.Due to circumstances beyond my control, we went again for an evening meal. Wir haben hier an einem regnerischen, geschäftigen Samstagabend in Salzburg zu Abend gegessen. Das Personal ist Italiener und da mein Italienisch besser ist als mein Deutsch, war es schön, sich fließend mit dem freundlichen Personal verständigen zu können. Wir hatten große Erwartungen an das Essen, nachdem wir drei Jahre in Italien gelebt hatten, waren aber leider etwas entmutigt, da es angesichts der Tatsache, dass das Personal Italiener war, nicht den Erwartungen entsprach. Ich hatte das Antipasti, das anscheinend im Supermarkt gekauft wurde, Massenware war und eine echte Enttäuschung war, einfach mittelmäßig. following the nice reviews we tried this italian place.firs of, it hasn't been renewed (and cleaned) since the 70s, moreover it is allowed to smoke inside. we ordered two glasses of wine, and what arrived was a glass of vinegar. the waiter insisted in changing it, into something that had ice floating and tasted like a cheap knock off sangria. we had fish starters that had been taken directly out of the freezer.pizza was ok, but overpriced. staff was mainly rude and annoying.there are definitely better spots in town.
Food was great and in very generous portion sizes. The atmosphere is authentic and the waiters friendly. However coming from a country with no smoking in restaurants, it was an unwelcome surprise that it was allowed here. Wish we had realised before ordering. I rate it 3 stars solely from that reason, but if that doesn't bother you, it could have been 4-5.
Good pizza, extremely generous portion (they pack the rest to go with the smile), good open wine; good pleasant service. It all amounts to a good meal and great value. Nice walk to/from the historic neighbourhood through cobblestone streets and stairs (follow the google walking directions).
met up with friends while on holiday - love the pasta dishes and salads the waiters were very nice and forthcoming didnt have any chocolate desert so they made up something with cream and nutella and fruit for me although not asked for ... a nice gesture
Das Essen war für meinen Pastageschmack viel zu scharf und auch das Carpaccio schmeckte nach Knoblauch. Das Verhalten eines Mitarbeiters war enttäuschend, die Person war laut und benahm sich wie ein Clown. Vermeiden Sie den Ort, keine schöne Atmosphäre
One of the best restaurants in Salzburg. I've been here many times and everything I've try is amazing. The risotto Nero is a must. The pizza and pasta are really good, but the star plate is the tomato soup. I come here every time I'm around.
we had pizzas and they were definitely good in this place (like in Italy). Could be a little cheaper but it is worth the money. Staff is very friendly. We absolutely recommend it.
